SANTA ROSA, Calif. (AP). A Roman Catholic bishop apologized Saturday for waiting several days to notify authorities about sexual abuse allegations against a priest, a delay that may have allowed the priest to flee to Mexico.

Another sex abuse scandal hits the Catholic church, this time a Bishop, waited several days before reporting the allegation to the correct authority, giving the accused priest the chance to flee to Mexico.
What do you think? An error in Judegment? , a blatant cover up attempt?, or was he giving his colleague the chance to get away?

Given the Roman Catholic Chruch's track record, id say cover up. Especially when you coinsider the Vatican puts away alot of money in special accounts solely for the defense of these priests.

Its sickening.

Its pretty difficult to see a lapse in reporting a known crime, resulting in teh escape of the person that committed that crime, as anything other than a purposeful attempt to allow that person to escape. Especially when its the RCC and kids getting raped.

Can't the RCC threaten to excommunicate this guy if he doesn't turn himself in? I mean, they'll excommunicate people for lots of reasons, seems like this'd be a good one.
