What OS is this RADAR SCREEN running or Application?

My guess in the link below, it is running an application written in either COBOL or FORTRAN...But the OS is either hooked onto a Mainframe Supercomputer which who in the heck knows that OS is running. DOes anyone know? And also, if you click directly on the image, it will zoom in but on the bottom left hand corner of the "green-screen" radar missile detection radar, it says EPOCH DATE/TIME and DAYS...

Now, since Epoch time ONLY is implied for UNIX OSs, it can be running a UNIX OS running on a Mainframe super-computer.

Might be QNX, I know quite a few commercial radar systems (mostly ones privatly owned for weather stations) that run on QNX.

It might also be a completely proprietary system, or an oldschool WANG VS or IBM mainframe, or even a basic UNIX mainframe.

From just a screenshot of the output you can't really find out.

Knowing what radar system it is, what model and what manifacturer, it would be easyer to find out.

It looks pretty old so my bet is it's a completely proprietary system.

My personal opinion is this application itself is mostly likely wrttien in COBOL. The OS and or system maybe an IBM Mainframe or a VAX-cluster system super-computer.

Dedicated systems like that don't need an operating system. It usualy is run straight from hardware ROM drive. (read only memory). Just like a Basic Input Output System (BIOS).
