Is the Military the best choice?

Not quite sure where to put this, move it if you want.
I have a freind who wants to go into the navy and is in njrotc. She says she wants to go in to see where they will take her and so she can travel the world, and she doesnt know what else to do. Is that a good reason to go in? It doesnt seem like her thing, she's not very good in njrotc, and she spends most of her time watching cartoon network and playing nintendo ds.
What do you guys think? good choice or bad choice?
