Puzzling indeed.

I'm still thinking along the lines of time period.

But the point reference given above deserves some checking into as well..

I only get the "." in explorer, never the "u".
Have tried 3 times.

This is a longshot and its probably not worth following up, but anyways this shows my desperation.

"." as in "period" - as in periodic table.
"u" as "uranium" in the periodic table

Lol. No one has a clue where to go with this hint and the thread dies. First time its happened where people eidn't even know where to start looking.

Well, we were told a few pages back that the game was tested on different browser versions. I find it hard to believe that they would purposely hardcode different characters for different broswers.

Of course, stranger things have happened...*sigh*

Theres been some wide open clues before, but this one takes the cake. A "." could be referencing any properly punctuated piece of literature in history, or a place, or a time period, or a woman's period.

Argh.


Edit: Someone just suggested in the chatroom that this might have something to do with us being halfway through the game. Not sure how, but its a good observation.

I'm sure it doesn't mean anything, but if you highlite the period like you were going to copy and paste, is there a space after it?

well, lets look at how many ways to define that little mark:


1. period
2. dot
3. point
4. pinhole ( )
5. full stop

If there are any more, add them to the list.

From these definitions, we may arrive at something more tangible to work with

yes, ive also noticed this, there is a space. Does the "u" also have a space?

I double checked. If you copy and paste the period there is a space after it. I would think that would have to be coded in. As I said its probably nothing, the avenues I usually pursue are way off. Just thought I'd point it out.

Mechanic, copy the period, paste it in notepad and notice where the blinking cursor ends up. There is a space after the period. But it probably doesn't mean anything.

Great!! Now we not only have a "." and a "u", but also a ". " ???

I still se just a plain "." with no space, either before or after it. When you highlight it, the highlighted field appears much wider than the period itself, so maybe that is what you are seeing?

Still no space for me...

I always feel left out.

I don't have a "u", or a space now....

Just a plain old period. I feel inferior.
