Possibility to defend Israel from rockets?

Any member with military background? I am wondering - Is there a possiblity to shoot those damn Katyusha rockets which are falling to Israel territory with some defense?

Nope...slready been discussed at length on TV. They say the flight time of these rockets is so short that it would be nearly impossible to shoot them down. Missles with a longer flight time would be a little easier.

Today, they still will have to predominately “go the source” to stop the attacks.

And really the only technology being publicly discussed is the Skyguard system currently under development by Northrop Grumman.

Most of the damage in Israel is being caused by ancient unguided rockets that really don't have a heat signature after they're launched that I think most missile defense systems look for....maybe someone with better knowledge can give a better anwser.
