Guyanese Chutney music... not my favorite genre, I swear all the beats sound the same. Still some of these songs can be really funny and they are trip to dance to, especially when you have the old people on the dance floor.

ok, I'll admit this song is a bit cheesy and is certainly not a choice for dancing to...

but it does what it is meant to do and show the beauty of my birth country Guyana. So for those who haven't heard of Guyana, and no it's not in Africa, that's Ghana

Nadeer - My Guyana

So?? The rhytm is sweet anyway!!!

Here's one from Guyana's neighbour.. Surinam! They're playing Bigi Pokoe

I used to call it Grampa's music, because my grandfather was Surinamese..

More Bigi Pokoe, but it only starts at 3min 41secs.

Duku voor Suriname - Long Watra

(There's a guy at 40 sec behind/between the guy & the girl in white that looks a lot like my cousin)

Another one (I always think on my grampa when hear this)

Q-Plus - Skoro Bangi

De Stofzuiger (DNA remix) (In Dutch)

This song was played for the first time in full in public last night. It was the last prefinal for the Calypso & Roadmarch contest of Aruba: Here's the video.

T money "King of the Road"

Saturday we'll see who will win in the finals, but this song is my favorite.
