The warning's were not there at first, but as time rendered on, "They have now changed thier mind's about the Westnile possibilities."


There are seven new human cases of the West Nile Virus, bringing the number of confirmed cases this year to 14, the Department of Health and Hospitals said Monday.
The cases came from Assumption Parish, St. Tammany Parish, Tangipahoa Parish, Washington Parish and West Baton Rouge Parish.
During this week in 2005 there were 26 confirmed cases and the highest year for the Virus was in 2002, with 329 cases.
Officials warn residents to remove standing water, secure windows and doors, and avoid perfumes or colognes when outside for long periods of time to avoid the West Nile Virus.

I thought that virus was pretty much eradicated anyway, or was I thinking of something else . . .

Here in Utah we've had 7 or 8 cases this year so far. Two of the cases were within 5 miles of my house...

You're thinking of something else. There are a small number (but increasing) of these cases each year. Counties here in Texas run education programs on tv, on billboards, and elsewhere to make people aware of precautions they need to take during the summer. Anyplace where you have horses there is a small but real risk of the virus.
