Realism and neo-conservatism.

Is there really a difference between realism and neo-conservatism. Because if there isnt most US presidents where Neo-cons

In means of foreign policy.

I disagree.

Until the first world war, and the years in between it and the second world war, most U.S. presidents were very isolationist.

Neo-Conservatism means new conservatism. And they turn a number of conservative ideas on their heads.

Neo Con is a hugely over used term. True Neo Cons are followers of the political philosophy of Leo Strauss.

Their influence has been tangiable in US Politics since the fifties and they've pretty much ruled the political process in the US for at least the last 30 years.

Imho Straussism, as dangerous as it is, is not as half as dangerous as what it is gradually being replaced by.
