With the impending war in the middle east which i sure we will soon get dragged into i would love to know what the users of ATS think will happen (things like major events new countries entering the war etc)

A big step towards world war would be if Syria and Iran got directly involved in the Israel/Lebanon conflict. Syria won't move without permission from Tehran. Once Syria and Iran start moving troops into battle, the US and UK would get directly involved.

A lot of this depends upon what actions the US and UN take in regard to Iran's nuclear issues. The Iranians are making their move to become the regional player in the mideast. The US is firmly set in it's policy to stop Iran's nuclear ambitions.

The US is playing a waiting game at the moment - gathering intelligence, firming up old alliances, and creating new alliances. This is in preparation for the coming global conflict.

The North Korean situation is another major issue. I think a North Korean attack on Japan is more likely than a North Korean attack on South Korea. And another missile test by Norht Korea is just around the corner.

Things can get even uglier if Turkey invades Iraq and China invades Taiwan.

However it unfolds,I do believe we would be alone in this one.Theres alot of countries that want to see us get our asses kicked.I think we need to start working on our own problems(gas prices,crime,etc.)before we worry about the middle east.

Another potential world war player is Venezuela, led by Hugo Chavez. Definitely not a friend of the west. This is going to be a futre problem for the US to consider.

Russia, as usual, is playing both sides to their advantage.

Maybe Russia and China, and Iran, and Syria, and India, and Indonesia, and Eastern Europe, and all of latin America, and all of Africa, and North Korea, and everyone else who is "evil and hates the holy US" (should be around 4/5 of the world by now according to US) will stand in the way of American imperialistic ambitions and the WOT. And then there will be WW3, because what US wants- is what US gets- whether be it through UN pencil pushing, or carpet bombing AKA liberation.

I hardly think Iran, or Syria or North Korea are capable of starting a world war. If anyone starts a world war, it will be the US. With over 1/2 of total global military spending, US is very much capable of invading just about anybody. And so far, there is nothing to suggest that US won't do just that. Oh those 4/5 of the world must be feeling a pressure now. But hey- US isn't going to start WW3 through invasions. It will be through liberations. We will liberate everyone from their oppresive cultures and governments, and make the world a truly global empire. Then we can sell Big Macs and Boeing Jets to everyone, while everyone gives us their oil and says thank you.

And in the end we can blame everything on those dirty communists and cave dwelling mujehedeen. They don't have excess to media- so they can't prove us wrong. Oh brilliant.

I dont know about that, I think if there is another WW, Russia will sit it out and play both sides for the money.(unless directly attacked) Which countries in Africa(Besides South Africa) or South America(besides Brazil) have the ability to get directly involved in a world war? The ability to send troops and the needed equipment to fight on the modern battlefield?

These "imperialistic" endeavers you speak of are only acts that go in the best interest of the US. Its called global geopolitics and every country plays this game. They are all looking out for number 1(ie, themselves). Its the way it works. Any one country has the means to start a world war(but only a few could actually fight in the long run), all it would require is one incident in the wrong place at the wrong time, and one by one countries will be falling into the mess either because they are directly threatened or are fulfilling defensive pacts with countries who are directly threatened.

While the US could probably invade anyone, she wont invade just anyone. She will invade anyone who directly threates our interests at home and abroad. Read the above paragraph for that reasoning. In the end the blame will be writtin by whoever wins. Victors have always written the history. Think of how different our known history would be now if the Axis Powers has won WW2, it would be a polar opposite of what we consider factual history now. Once again, its the way the world works.

Yes and I stated it. WW3 will unfold due to pressure against US global involvement. Please explain how either Syria or Iran will be capable of carrying on a world war? They have neither the power nor the influence for that. US on the other hand is the global policeman. With by far the largest military force and global presence, it will be a major player in any global conflict such as a World War. During WW1 and WW2, several nations were very powerful, and for the most part both sides were equally matched (at the start anyway).

WW3 will be different in that the world is not multi-polar anymore. It is seemingly US and NATO vs. everybody. Look at all the recent world conflicts. Other than Africa US has been involved in nerly all of them. And of course it make it seem like it is supporting the good guys. And if you think a state like Israel will be one of those involved in the start of WW3- thats also America's doing. US gave Israel the go ahead for attack on Hezbolah. US invaded Iraq, almost unprovoked. So if anyone appears to be starting a World War, it is the US. The rest of the world is simply reacting to this. And soon this reaction can be very violent (more so than on 9/11). And ultimately, it is the US that created this tense situation.

My sacrasm in the previous post, was in reply to people saying that Iran and Syria will start the next World War. That is like saying Serbia started WW1. Yes they will be involved, and likely the conflict will start just there. But they won't be the reason behind the conflict. WW1 sparked by an assassination in the Balkans. But it flared up because of alliances of powerful nations and global ambitions of countries such as Germany.


It certainly seems like growing resistance and/or aggression towards US and Israel in Middle East is the spark this time. Will a global war start- no likely, as Russia and China, and probably most of Europe will remain on the sidelines. But US and its allies will be the main fuel in this conflict. It might start for any reason (such s currect action in Lebanon), but it will continue because of American inveolvement.

This will become a World War only if major players like China and Russia get involved. And a war is the last thing they want right now, as both are focused on more immediate problems such as economy and local conflicts. Otherwise it will end up as another region US troops will have occupy. Iran and Syria (and venezuela and north korea) hardly have the power to drag in major world powers into a conflict. And the alliances are not what they used to be a century ago (like Turkey not allowing US troops for invasion of Iraq).

Here's how i see the script playing out.

1. The War Starts with America Being Attacked on 9-11...but by who?

2. The USA takes Afghanistan, who borders political allie Nuclear Pakistan.

3. The USA Annouces an "Axis of Evil" Consisting of Iraq, Iran, and N.Korea...while pledging a World Wide War on Terror Groups...

4. USA Invades Iraq under false pretenses...in what was supposed to be a quick victory...Victory would mean having IRAN in a Pinch with troops on both borders.

5. However since things didn't go as expediately as they
expected would have had to trigger a civil war in iraq and
turn over the fighting to Sunni's vs. Shiites....
Should be easy to start since they have had their
differences for hundreds of years...All you would have
to do is blow up a holy site and blame the other side.


While this is boiling over...Here's Where We Are Now...

6. 2006-2007

Israel uses first excuse to launch an all out invasion of Hezbollah...which is a proxy agent for Iran...This gives the USA the pretext for attacks on Iran under our defense agreements with Israel. Possibly Isreal would launch the first strike against Iran...Iran Retailiates...America Gets involved to help a friend in need.

2007- OIL and Gas Rations Begin...when gas hits $7.50 per gallon



7. 2007

Here's where it gets tricky...

N.Korea knows that its next, and American troops are

spread very thin between Afghanistan,

Iraq, and Iran, and International Forces in Israel/Lebannon.

China also sees this weakness and China takes Taiwan in a 5 day war.

Which gives N.Korea the distraction she needs to Attack American Forces

in South Korea with one suprise attack...possibly air burst nuke....

because there is less fallout with an airburst.

Korea is re-united without a fight from America...because America
didn't want to anger the Red Dragon who is finally awake.



8. 2008

Iran attacks Israel & Europe, because it can't reach America

and destroys the Vatican and Rome killing the Pope.

Also bombs the crap out of Jerusalem.

In retaliation Isreal destroys The Temple Mound, and blames

it on the Iran Missiles.


2008- Muslims lead an Uprising/Riots all across the world

...causing chaos and destruction/fires.

America and Europe are on fire.


2008- China's Olympic Games are Cancelled


2008 - 1 Month Prior to Presidential Elections

America Is Attacked Worst than 9-11...
3 Nuke Bombs Low Yeild, but Using Ground Detanation
destroy large parts of Chicago, New York, Newark,NJ.

then over the entire Summer of 2008.
A Chemical Weapon Suicide Attacks on Los Angeles and the

which is where protests take place to remove Bush from Power.



2009 - California West Coast Destroyed by 9.0 Earthquake.

America's Economy Collapses...
Causing a Civil Unrest in America...Marshall Law is Declared
...The Powergrid is Attacked or Turned off...
The Largest Draft in America History is ushered in.
NATO/UN troops are deployed to America to keep the peace
from a huge civil unrest...Which leads to a Civil War between
Rural Areas and the Cities...over food and supplies.


2009 - Israel is on the brink of destruction and
decides to take one last offensive move to win the war...
they Nuke Iran, Iraq, Syria...Isreal is then utterly destroyed
by Russia by Several Nuke Attacks...This came as a suprise
to American Forces in the region and most of their troops are
killed in the blasts by both sides.


2011-2012
USA having its own problems at home with a rebellion and disaster relief
and not wanting a fight with Russia calls for a Truece.
America despite heavy losses are still the strongest projection
force in the world...But Russia and China smell the blood
in the Water and decide to finish off the American Empire once and for all.
They take the side of the Rurals over the Cities controlled
by the NWO and nuke every major city in America.
The survivors in the Rural areas are thankful to Russia for
Ending the War...Suprisingly USA launches a counter strike
against Russia...however takes out their missile silos and
not their cities...except moscow...St.Petersburg is made the new capital.

2012- American President and his Advisors are killed in the attack. Congress and Senate and wiped out by attacks and follow up assasinations by the KGB.

2012-2020
Russia under Czar Vladamire Putin puts back
together the old Soviet Union...with popular approval.
Extending the Empire all the way to Western "OLD" Europe.

2012-2020
China sees an opportunity to expand its borders
and takes over most of Northern Asia and Southern Asia
except for Japan who annexes to become part of China's
new Empire without a fight.


WAR RESULTS-

BRIC - Brazil, Russia, India, & China(w/Japan) becomes the
newest SuperPower on Earth.

America is left in Ruins... Israel as well as
most of the middle east is destroyed with the exception
of Saudi Arabia.

The NWO's Plan almost worked but was thwarted at
the final hour by the BRIC Union.

Well if you opened your eyes and think strategycalli like generals you would actualy see that the US is sorounding its enemyes it completly sorounded Iran.
I belive it would happen very soon and the start will be when they find some kind of link between hezbollah and iran and maybe some atempt to detonate or launch a nuclear bomb on Israel!
Than Israel and USA will erase hole cities in Iran as retaliation.

The United Kingdom in World War III

The United Kingdom so far has played a major role in the War on Terror. Even Provided Falsified Intel Documents, that gave USA the pretext for the Iraq War.

However, the popular opinion in UK is quickly turning. I would expect UK to still support America's invasion of Iran...but not on the levels seen in Iraq. Due to an uprising in Iraq, I would expect the new PM to bring home your troops.

Because of your withdrawal you are given 4 seasons of peace...but then...
Once America's Economy collapses...so goes Europe.

The U.K doesn't get Nuked in the War...but the people will live in constant terror as your Muslim Populations will begin a rampage far worse than what was seen in Paris last summer...instead of burning cars they start burning businesses, homes, and appartments.

Actually during WWIII your main concern isn't Muslim Fascists...its the IRA who use the opportunity to "re-organize" and blow up some major buildings. They want and will actually win their independence at the decree of Russia after the war is by all purposes over.

After the War, Russia doesn't conquer Western Europe which is left as individual countries...
