I have heard Israel fields multiple short range missle defense systems including Patriots and other weapons. I keep hearing about Hezbolah rockets hitting Haifa. So my question is.... Is Israel fielding patriot defense and also, are they even trying to shoot down these Hezbollah rockets?

I doubt that they would bother. Every rocket that hits Israel justifies them killing civillians themselves. In fact I would'nt be surprised if at least some of these missiles were fired by mossad.
