Can anyone tell me what this is?

I was looking around New Mexico last night on Google Earth and found this odd tube shaped building. I thought at first it was a wind tunnel, but look how massive it is. Also, it looks like something is sticking out of the end of it that is very large.

Go to these coordinates: 33 47'37.19" N 106 40'56.70" W

First of all open up google earth and go to those coordinates. In the TOOLS menu at the top make sure that LAYERS is selected(tick mark). Now in the layers menu at the bottom left of the screen make sure that GOOGLE EARTH COMMUNITY box is ticked and an information icon will appear on the structure, click on it and it will tell you the basics of this thermal simulator.
