Per Fox News, Israeli officials stating that hezbollah's capability has been reduced by about 50% and that they have now hit all the targets that
have been mapped out since the 2000 withdrawal. Any new attacks are the result of new intelligence and they expect the pace if the Israeli strikes to
wind down. Before this capmaign they wanted to reduce Hezbollah's capability by 60-80% and they think they will fall aprt at that point.

tell me why they are evacuating most westerners, if this is scaling down.
remember the news first told us it would only take a few days, now its a few weeks. did you see how bush looked away when asked if weeks are going to
be enough, watch the interview. they know this is longer.

?? 50%....... huh???
perhaps, 50% of the hard, stationary targets like the hezbollah headquarters
building, the various district meeting centers for hezbollah's military wing...
i.e. long ago identified hezbollah sites of activity (whichmust have been
evacuated or abandoned at the first hint of an Israeli assault after the 2 soldiers were taken captive, probably into Lebanon & then maybe Syria)
but i seriously doubt that 50% figure includes the weapons & missile caches
divvied up all around southern Lebanon,
i also doubt hezbollah's political offices & buildings have been hit, as that sort of target (legitimate political party in Lebanon's legislation
body) would backfire on the Israeli choice to send bomber sorties, world opinion would immediately condemn Israeli action.
my guess is that- that Fox news item is juiced up news, and undoubtedly from
'unnamed officials' ....whatever that means...which brings up the question:
is a faction in Fox news reporting helping beat the war-drums?
? could you post a link next time, so as to confirm your posts message & basis of facts.
thanks

for reference:
Fox News
Israel said Wednesday that its airstrikes had destroyed "about 50 percent" of Hezbollah's arsenal. "It will take us time to destroy what is
left," Brig. Gen. Alon Friedman, a senior army commander, told Israeli Army Radio.
This seems to be the article that princeofpeace is referring to.

So, in over 20 years of fighting they cannot destroy Hezbollah or it's activities, but now, in the space of a week, they want us to believe they have
detsoryed 50% of it...
I'll believe it when the rockets stop pounding Israel....

thanks,
in the meanwhile, i did run across a sentence in a yahoo.news article
which was worded very much like the external quote you posted from Fox.
it is very surprising what Brig. Gen. Alon Friedman, a senior Army commander said
...........~~...........
i also ran into this blurb of the mis-information overload thats being shoved into our
mass consciousness....
There's a Java video window, by CNN, titled; "Support Grows For Hezbollah"
(this applet video was on a yahoo.news page click-on box on a page about
~Israel troops engage Hezbollah guerrillas... in Lebanon~)
anyhow, 1:40 into the 2:34 video,
[the honorable UN Ambassador Bolton says;
(paraphrase) Hamas and Hezbollah are Supported and Financed by Terrorist Cells in Syria and Iran....]
it shouldn't be difficult to come by this classic double-speak, no info imparted blurb.
..unless CNN eventually pulls that Bolton Gaffe, or that entire video

Exactly, Syria and Iran (and Israel) are using Lebanon to deflect the backlash. Cowards. They are at war, and Lebanon is the one suffering.

OH, the Gen. must be refering to the hezbollah-in-hiding
at those 15+ factories
and production facilities
and Labanon's largest Dairy Farm
and that paper mill
also that pharmaceutical plant
and that goods distribution warehouse (similar to a wal-mart regional whse)
see: www.dailystar.com.lb...
(caution there's a bunch of pop-ups & cookies on this Lebanon newspaper site)-
where the article can be read about ALL the intentional INFRASTRUCTURE
damage being done....like Souljah is pointing out

Curious. While I'm sure that all Israeli pilots are Israeli citizens, what makes you believe that they are all Jewish?
Or, is that you just making a genralization based upon your true feelings.......

So let me get this Straight:
Not all Israeli Pilots in IAF are Jewish,
But Terrorists are Muslim,
Correct?

You have to admire the productivity of the Isreali Military. They are the most powerful and effective force in the middle east. They have destroyed
bigger enemies than hezbollah! Back in the day, Isreali's forces faced down 17 divisions and won!
