New Ad on ATS featuring a mosquito buzzing...

Has anyone else come across this ad yet? It is incredibly annoying.. its one of those "hit or kill this object to win a prize" ads, in this case you are supposed to zap the mosquito.

I don't mind the ads but when they have sound and especially this one, with a mosquito incessantly buzzing as I browse is just realllllly annoying. Please do something to get rid of this ad and any others like it that might pop up. I realize that maybe in some cases you don't have control over the ads as you are just a member of an ad service which places random ads on the page. But please, this ad and others like it are testing my sanity while browsing ats! Like I said, I don't mind the ads with no sound!

My sound is down pretty low..SO I just heard this really low buzzing.
So yes, I was looking around the room for the flying bug...

I know we are supported by ad's and gladly accept them as the price of maintaining our beloved ATS.

That said, that particular add is very annoying with it's sound.

Also, it is in such a location where, i for one, often accidently move my mouse accros the add to change forums and am stuck with at darn buzzing untill i change pages.

Down with the bug.....Long Live ATS!!!

I was wondering what the hell that was as I trained myself not to look at the adds. That really is annoying.

Turn your volume off? I never have it on unless I'm actually listening to something specific.

You could always try turning your sound off.

Its bad enough that I must endure being harried by these pesky bugs every evening in my back yard, with the constant worry of EEE and WNV and all. Must I also endure their loathsome drone while I enjoy my visits to the normally placid pages of ATS?

Revenue is important, but please, make Mr. Skeeter go away!

Yes, the sound is now off.
But that's the point..........Some level of control is being exercised by someone,

if its the ATS staff, then my/our/your vocalizations may mean something...
otherwise the PTB will control our lives by that audio noise so when visiting
ATS we will have to go through a pre-flight sequence list of things that
one must do to maintain a placid, peaceful state of mind.

PS: someday, without realizing it, you too, might fall prey to That Rude Awakening

usually i wouldn't complain about something so trivial but:

i was just listening to some music and the buzzing sound from that ad was buzzing like crazy and it was very annoying...

a simple fix was reloading the page and a new ad came on (with no sound)...

what would happen if someone was listening to music and had a lot of stuff typed on a page and didn't want to reload???

i know, turn off the sound, but still

The sound was disabled from the ad with the smiley faces that always said, "Say something! Whaaa?" when you put your cursor over the banner. I would hope some one would disable the annoying buzzing sound from this ad. SO or WOS will see this thread and probably do something about the annoying noise.

We are always open to, and gladly appreciate, feedback but....

As with all previous banner issues we are helpless to do anything on description alone. We require the target URL or any underlying code obtainable in order to identify which advertising agency it is coming from, and to then identify the campaign.

As Simon pointed out, the Amigos don't expect us to take abuse from ads, but do need positive identification in the form of a URL to remove them.
