Worst Ads Ever! (SkepticOverlord's Ad Hitlist)

This ad makes me want to punch my monitor every time I see it. Whatever creative dunce came up with this should be drawn and quartered, in my opinion. Wait, both he and the wiseman that approved it should get the punishment.

Nothing more annoying than a perpetually buzzing virtua-bug.

I've noticed something a couple of days ago and it is blantanly racist. There is a banner ad that shows up frequently on this website. It is a set of adds in which you have to snap a photo of a celebrity. One i believe is Paris Hilton of something and on the top it says "SNAP the celebrity", then there is one of a black guy that looks like 50 cent and it says "SHOOT the rapper". Anyone else notice this??

is it designed to cause a epileptic shock or something the flashing is eye straining

There was a banner on the top of this page just now that showed some gore... it showed dismembered body parts... what's up with that?

(The scariest thing you ever saw) was said on the banner....

the microsoft ads are the worst, yes i am anti-microsoft. since it seems ats on run on linux servers maybe they should show linux related ads. and with the recent news of our governments networks being hacked and the fact that they use windows shows ignorance on theyre part. the ats moto is to deny ignorance, therefore ats should deny microsoft..power of the penguin!

There is Single College girl cam page ad that comes up on the Board Home page which shows a few provocative situations. At home, no problem. At work big problem. Any way we would be able to get this removed?

I just got a pop-up while logged in to ATS...tribalfusion if it matters...

There's a Bird's Eye Voila ad showing up that makes whooshing noises. It's a flash ad.

Just wondering but why would you think that the above link is the code for an advertising ad?
Were you able to click on that link and see a code there? I clicked on it and I can not even get it to open. What program did you open it in... just wondering. Thanks

Allow me to jump on the "remove the ad" bandwagon too. I have to keep the sound turned off inorder to view ATS when the smilies are hellllllooooing. I don't have seizures but I can't tolerate flashing ads either. I have to get out of ATS when those ads appear.

Had the sound up, late at night, scared the WHATZAT? out of me the first time!

I like my smilies to be seen and not heard, thankyouverymuch.!

Also I find the smiley above the "helloooooo" smiley to be a bit raunchy.

I'm using firefox in Vista and don't have any customized pop up blockers installed other than what came with firefox and vista. I don't get the annoying smilie pop ups of obnoxious audio!

I noticed an earlier post with a screen shot of Internet Explorer.

But the smilie ad that "talks" is in a frame at the top of the page, and it "talks" every time you mouseover.

And the first time your cursor passes over the stupid thing it stops everything dead while it loads up the sound file.

It's incredibly annoying and they're wasting their money on an ad to me because I would never buy their lame product.

But since it pays to help keep ATS online, I guess I'll tolerate it, but I won't click on it.

It does, however keep me on my toes, since I now have to avoid even passing the cursor over a lot of real estate at the top of the page, to avoid being propositioned by the little ho'ing, helloing smilies.

Kind of like avoiding the bad part of town where the ho's, pimps and dealers hang out, you know?

Any AMIGOS, ADMINS, or MODS have anything to say? Is the issue being looked into? I thought that was the point of this thread...
