They're probably children of one of the soldiers.

After so many years of the Islamic Jihadist movement and their failure to get a mass movement among their populace, they decided it was moral degradation as a result of Western influence. Not outrage at their assassination and murder campaigns against their own elected governments. They decided to blame the West for the liberal influence.

The neo-cons regard the populations failure to support them as evidence of moral degradation as a result of liberal influence, and campaign against these so-called anti-American liberal values at home. Once Clinton was decidedly lambasted as a moral failure, they exaggerated the muslim threat, as any country that resists their banking and class demands is a country that makes America less safe.

Israel makes the ideal confluence of both these radicle idealogues, since Islamic Jihadist can count on more wide-spread Arab outrage at the colonialist imposed boundaries of Israel. Neo-cons can count on fundamentalist dogma that Israel must be standing in order for Christ to return.

The Islamic Jihadists and neo-conservative dogmatists represent a relatively small portion of the population for both the east and the west. I don't know that much about Israeli politics, but it seems a small number of radicles are the greatest obstacle to peace, and it's commendable that some stability has been maintained in the region.

Now that Israel has decided Lebanon is either unwilling or unable to deal with the Hezbollan authority, they know they have a neo-con administration in the U.S. that will support their aggression - for political, economic and religious reasons.

I don't think Israel has the same political and ideological goals as the neo-cons, but they're willing to strike an uneasy alliance with the fanatics in order to oppose the fanatics of the muslim persuasion. Then I bet many of them would like to take both sets of fanatics and leave them in a dessert somewhere to sort out their differences alone.

Poor children, it's always the innocents who pay for the madness of despots.

I posted this in another thread, but it was soon after closed…..

The editorial
When We Teach Our Children to Hate contained the pictures on July 21, 2006.
Also, apparently it first appeared on some Arab blog.

The message the girls are writing, is not clear, nor can one state with any confidence or certainty what has been written in the shells was written by children.

The only message I can read is to Sheik Hassan Nasrallah of Hezbollah, (not Lebanon and nothing hate filled against the Lebanese)…but rather against the very man that has threatened Jews and Israel to no ends.

"If they all gather in Israel, it will save us the trouble of going after them worldwide."— Sheik Hassan Nasrallah

The girl may be drawing a Star of David for anyone knows. In fact according to the source cited below (which report they spoke with the AP photographer that took the pictures) that is precisely what the girls were drawing.

According to this source the girls are from Kiryat Shmona, which is right on the border with Lebanon (worth a read):

Kiryat Shmona has been under constant bombardment from South Lebanon since the first day of the conflict….
… The noise was terrifying, people were dying outside, the kids were scared out of their minds and they had been told over and over that some man named Nasrallah was responsible for their having to cower underground for days on end.

On the day that photo was taken, the girls had emerged from the underground bomb shelters for the first time in five days. A new army unit had just arrived in the town and was preparing to shell the area across the border. The unit attracted the attention of twelve photojournalists - Israeli and foreign. The girls and their families gathered around to check out the big attraction in the small town - foreigners. They were relieved and probably a little giddy at being outside in the fresh air for the first time in days. They were probably happy to talk to people. And they enjoyed the attention of the photographers.
-[snip]-
The photograpers gathered around. Twelve of them.

Ya know what..It really doesn't matter. When israeli media shows pictures of kids dressed in mock suicide bomber outfits its all the same crap. Israeli kids are not above Palestinian kids. They do as their parents do or they follow their parents teachings. Thats what kids do because they love their parents and thats all they know. It sucks when the shoe is on the other foot though and people percieve you as an animal from photo's like this doesn' it? It should stand as proof that if you intend on acting as a role model for others, you should be sure first that your own closet is skeleton free...otherwise it will come back at you 10x harder for not practicing what you preach and Israel preaches a lot. The parents of israel teach their kids to hate arabs and Palestinians just as much as Palestinians teach their kids to hate Jews and israelis. No matter what excuse you can come up with in regards to the shell signing picture, its doubtful that they are words of Love. I doubt very much that many of those shells landed on the target that they claimed it was intended for in any event.

There is no "excuse"... I only offered a possible reported history and explaination behind the AP photos as reported by persons that claim to have contacted AP about the pictures...with supporting links...and pointed out that whoever wrote on the shell did not write anything against Lebanon or the Lebanese. AP is reported to say the girls were drawing Israeli flags...big deal!

And yes it does matter...

That is why these photos are so ridiculously controversial, they provide the ability for persons to support what they feel and formulate foregone conclusions to fit…shrugging-off as a 'look see, I told you...' or 'well..they all do it'...which is the making of "excuse".

The following is appalling:

School trains suicide bombers , these kindergardener’s lessons. and this AP Photo

If this were happening in Israel, with Israeli students/children…. “studying hatred against Arab’s!...OMG!”…the news would be plastered with it and you know it.

Furhtermore, examples such as the Kach organization was banned in Israel. Lebanon can not say the same about thier militant groups that seek the destruction of thier neighbor?...

Drawing equitable comparisons on this issue is deceptive; but the degree at which you summarily equate the children of both sides of the line is factually unsupported, oversimplified and flatly nothing more than opinionated…

just for the sake of balance:

fp.thebeers.f9.co.uk...
www.pmw.org.il...

infact, just look at this whole site:

www.pmw.org.il...

Do you know what the main difference is between the two sides. Those kids probably thought they were going to land on hezbollah, as that is what they were told. Palestinian kids are taught from a young age in school that is honourable to kill jews. They also make no distinction between jews and zionists.
