I'm guilty in neglecting this, as well.

Now for the official verdict!

Dum dum, dum dum dumdum!

I'm biting my fingernails already.

Is That Your Final Answer?

Hmm, so do we have a consensus on which four answers are correct?

I want to make absolutely sure, because once I make the Final Final Judgment, there's the double-check phase.

We'll want to be ready for that.

I came up with the same answers as Mechanic32 and Xeros, just wasn't quick enough on the draw.

I'd say final answer.......Mechanic32's by 3mins.

I'm gonna sound biased here as I'm top of the list, however I agree that Mechanic got the final judgement and should be awarded 2000 points.

Doh, there's where I went wrong and lost the time war.

I should have copy/pasted instead of actually looking over the posts and counting 6 errors (letters) for ragster and 8 (caps and spaces) for Kellter.

WE HAVE OUR WINNERS!

Well, I'm still a bit woozy to be officiating such a solemn event, but what the heck.

Since there seems to be agreement among the contestants, I will hereby, henceforth and wherewithal proclaim with utmost pomposity the winners, awardees and beneficiaries of this most official and important-looking PTS contest.

They are -- as thoughtfully enumerated by Mechanic 32 -- as follows:

www.abovetopsecret.com...

2. ragster ("infinite" instead of "intrepid")

3. Kellter (FSME names not quite right)
www.abovetopsecret.com...
4. Mechanic 32
www.abovetopsecret.com...

xeros #4. has an edit.

I herefore, therefore and everywherefore do award the following points:

1. Xeros: 10,000 - First Place

2. ragster: 5000 - Second Place

3. Kellter: 2000 - Third Place

4. Mechanic 32: 1000 - First correct guess

5. Mechanic 32: 2000 - First post to correctly name all winners.

By the power vested in me, ipso facto, non sequitorum pluribus maximus, et cetera, ad nauseatum, I have verily and forsooth awarded these points in accordance with all the associated mumbo jumbo appurtenant thereto.

Congratulations to the winners for showing off your excellent research, analysis, reporting and gaming skillZ!

The winning members will be featured in the official PTS FSME announcement this evening.

Two thumbs up. Nicely done.

But Wait! There's More!

What if we made a mistake? Oh the horror!

Thus let there begin the last phase: the Doublecheck Phase.

Here's the deal:

1. Discover, post here and successfully convince me there's an error in the judgment of this contest, and I will award you 2000 PTS points.

2. The prize will be awarded to the first post which proves an error to my satisfaction.

3. The offer remains open until this special prize has been awarded.

4. Subject to my discretion, yadda yadda.

So if anyone suspects there was an error, I invite you to check and -- if you prove there was to my satisfaction -- 2000 PTS points are yours!

Kind of like a professional audit feature.

P.S. And I gave redmage 200 PTS points for being a good sport. Also, I reserve the right to hand out a few consolation prizes to any member who has participated so far in this thread as I go back and review it (tomorrow). You know, just to be nice.

P.P.S. I hope you had fun with this! I'm experimenting with different methods for running contests. Did you like this one?

w00t!

ATS Rocks, and PTS Rolls!

And BTS is well, BS! I mean BTS!

Thanks, Majic, and to all of the participants(could'nt have done it without them!)

I'd also like to thank mom and dad, and my third grade school teacher, and....

Okay, I'll
for now.

I was a winner and a loser, all at the same time.

Now, if I could just get my BTS points out of the red.
And find just one Political Easter Egg.

I enjoyed that Majic. I think there should be more contests and ways to get points like this because there aren't many ways (from what I've seen) to achieve them. I also seems to liven up the forums and help gain interest.
I'm off to look for "Political Easter Eggs" now

Sure there are.

Check out ragsters list here:

And Congratulations on the win! You are undoubtedly one of the more persistent members here on the boards!

Points Of Style

Well heck if you're after points, don't forget this:

PTS Applause: 1500 Points!

Contests aside, you can really rack up the points if you contribute the kinds of posts we'd like to see more of.

High-quality posts can be worth a lot of points.

Wing And A Player

Meanwhile, this contest was unplanned, rather off-the-cuff and I kind of winged it (I'm a haibane fan, after all) as we went along.

I like how it turned out, though, and I think I'll try this kind of contest again -- with some other twists, turns and tweaks, of course.

And points. Lots of points.

Wooo Hooo!

Congrats to Xeros, ragster, Kellter, and Mechanic 32, you all did wonderfully.

And an honorable mention to SportyMB who was actually the first to come up with the correct answers.

Unfortunately an 18th line and a few minor errors dropped it out of contention.

@ Majic

I'm experimenting with different methods for running contests. Did you like this one?

I'd have to agree, this was a fun one (and an amusing/refreshing way to "run" it
)

I think you had as much fun "watching it all go down" as we did playing it.

Thanks for the "sportsman's nod" as well.

To all.

P.S. Good luck to anyone trying to win the 2000pts. for a valid dispute on the results......and so the game continues.....

lol! This was one of the most entertaining threads Ive read in a VERY LONG TIME.

You're all welcome to come and participate in my Other Global Politics forum and I'll give Xeros, ragster, Kellter and Mechanic32 each an FSME 1500pt applause for being such entertaining good sports
We were given our applause skittle to encourage the type of members/posts we want to see in our forums. You guys qualify for that as far as I am concerned

Also it was so nice to see my username was eventually spelt with the lowercase "s"

Hint: To claim your FSME applause come join in the OGP goodness. There's even a weekly OGP exclusive competition worth 3000pts up for grabs!

Hellmutt, you troll!

Don't make me slap a warn on you!

And to you bug-hunters out there, don't forget: errors must be proven to my satisfaction. And I'm picky.

But if you can, 2000 PTS points are yours!

I have sufficient evidence that shows that there was a mess up with the judging according to one of the rules. As stated in Rule #2 the format had to be as follows- “Forum: Member”

As I went through the contest I took in consideration this very rule and made sure that my posts had this correct. As of xeros who finally and fairly placed all FSME list in order and correct, I found that he did not have rule #2 into consideration. All though afterwards, he took into consideration this and did fix his list and with and added color.

Xeros post without rule #2-
www.abovetopsecret.com...

Mine with rule #2 after his-
www.abovetopsecret.com...

From there I took into consideration that the colors were just examples and not stated in the rules. So therefore I propose a misjudging problem within the confinements of rule #2.
