Hi,

I am a Master's candidate at the London School of Economics. I am
currently conducting a survey for my dissertation. The survey is on
political rumors dealing with the US and the Middle East. It takes less
than 15 minutes to complete and is anonymous. Based on the content of
this forum I think it might be interesting for you. And I will
be happy to send you the finished dissertation in August...

Thanks very much,
Sonja

I took your survey.

You listed CNN and the NYT as American news sources with the rest as 'other'.
CNN and NYT are left wing propaganda machines. Your choices offered
showed left wing bias on the part of the author (you). that's not being mean,
that's just a helpful hint.

You asked a question about the fake news story - the claim that 4,000 Jewish
people didn't show up for work on 9/11 in the WTC.

I have to wonder what you are looking for with this ...

Do you have a theory about something already in place and are looking
for confirmation?

FlyerFan,

Thanks for taking the survey and I do appreciate your comments. I listed CNN and NYT as "American media" in order to distinguish them from foreign media, such as the Times of London or BBC. The reason for doing this is that we test whether exposure to certain types of media is associated with acceptance or rejection of the three case study statements. Whether they are indeed propaganda machines or legitimate news sources is secondary for this research.

In regards to case study 1, the WTC Jewish employees statement, we are testing who has heard of this statement, and if so, from where. Also, we want to research whether participants believe in this statement, and if they change their minds once they are presented with information that contradicts this statement. This information is presented to everyone who does not check "I think it is untrue".

At this stage in my study, I am working only of research questions and have not yet formed a hypothesis or a theory.
