I've downloaded Google Earth for the umpteenth time, but I still don't know how to use it. I want to be able to enter latitude and longitude coordinates. Is there a way for me to do that, or do I just have to find it?

Thanks,

Ranch

I haven't played with coordinate entry yet, but if you know the coordinates, and you do some reading about how coordinates work, I'm pretty sure you can get near the general area, and then pin point the area just by scrolling and looking at the coordinates at the bottom of the screen.

Some places are already marked though. For example if you are looking for "Area 51" just type "Area 51" in the search bar and it will snap right to it.

It's easy. Google Earth is very forgiving, just enter the coordinates on the Fly To tab, where it says "e.g., San Francisco".

I know for sure these formats work:

34.241521,-102.421284
34.241521 N 102.421284 W
34 14 29.423 N 102 25 16.612 W
34°14'29.42"N 102°25'16.61"W

Also, punctuation doesn't seem to matter (eg, "34.241521,-102.421284" vs "34.241521 -102.421284").

So far, any coordinates I've cut-n-pasted into GE have worked just fine.

Happy hunting!
