Here is a painting that was auctioned on EBay, apparently it is a cursed or haunted painting, that has caused people to become ill, sometimes
seriously.
It went for $1,025.00, and is called "Hands Resist Him" and was painted in 1972, the boy is apparently the painter as a child, and the window
apparently the veil between the boys world and the dream world.
Some of the symptoms of looking at this picture are supposed to be dizziness, a general feeling of illness, fainting, and some even report witnessing
dark visitors in the night after viewing it.
Here is the original EBay description of this painting.........
When we received this painting, we thought it was really good art. A " picker " had found it abandoned behind an old brewery. At the time we
wondered a little why a seemingly perfectly fine painting would be discarded like that. ( today we don't !!! ) one morning our 4 and 1/2 year old
daughter claimed, that the children in the picture were fighting, and coming into the room during the night. Now, i don't believe in ufos or elvis
being alive, but my husband was alarmed. To my amusement he set up a motion triggered camera for the nights. After three nights there were
pictures.the last two pictures shown are from that 'stakeout'. After seeing the boy seemingly exiting the painting under threat, we decided, the
painting has to go.please judge for yourself. --- before you do, please read the following warning and disclaimer. ----warning: do not bid on this
painting if you are susceptible to stress related disease, faint of heart or are unfamiliar with supernatural events. By bidding on this painting, you
agree to release the owners of all liability in relation to the sale or any events happening after the sale, that might be contributed to this
painting. This painting may or may not posess supernatural powers, that could impact or change your life. However, by bidding you agree to exclusively
bid on the value of the artwork, with disregard to the last two photos featured in this auction, and hold the owners harmless in regard to them and
their impact, expressed or implied.------------ now that we got this out of the way, one question to you ebayers. We want our house to be blessed
after the painting is gone, does anybody know, who is qualified to do that? The size of the painting is 24 by 36 inches, so it is rather large. As i
have had several questions, here the following answers. There was no odor left behind in the room. There were no voices, or the smell of gunpowder, no
foodprints or strange fluids on the wall. To deter questions in this direction, there are no ghosts in this world , no supernatural powers, this is
just a painting, and most these things have an explanation, in this case probably a fluke light effect. I encourage you to bid on the artwork, and
consider the last two photographs as pure entertainment, and please do not take them into consideration, when bidding. As we think it is a good idea
to bless any house, we still welcome input into that procedure.
This auction is nearing the end. I want to thank the more than 13000 people that took the time to look at this image on Ebay. I appreciate the more
than 30 suggestions, that I received regarding blessing the house, exorcising and cleansing. 7 e-mails reported strange or irregular events taking
place, when viewing this image. And I will relay two suggestions made by the senders. First not to use this image as the background on the screen, and
second not to display this image around juveniles or children. Last not least, thanks for appreciating the art as well.
I stared into this picture my self, and I have to say I did feel ill and a little dizzy, but that is probably just automatic suggestion like I was
thinking about feeling ill, so I did....
Here is the picture in question, haunted or not, id not want it above my fire place.

The power of suggestion.
It is usually the reason why curses work, people look for connections why they have bad luck and it's, "oh yeah", the curse, the painting, the
voodoo doll, etc.
If I told you your supper would make you ill tonight, it just might. Or if I told you I served you a burger with stinky rotten meat, even if it was
fresh, you'd feel ill about it.
Spooky pic though.

Ill? no.. gave me some serious shivers tho.. between the kid's face (which I couldn't look at for more than 2 seconds.. and which seemed to be
angrily looking *at* me..) and the hands reaching out from the window.. *shudders*
That painting would *never* hang in my house, and frankly I wouldn't be surprised if it was haunted.
I have heard of spirits being caught in paintings.. either being sent there, or their energies collecting in a painting.
There was one in a coffehouse I used to frequent.. hung in the girl's bathroom, of all places, directly across from a mirror. I could never look at
it.. the lady seemed to be staring at me. (Maybe it was because it was directly infront of the toilet.. but advertisements of people staring have
never affected me in that particular manner..) Then I heard from the woman who supposedly banished the spirit to the painting... if the mirror was
ever removed from opposite the picture, then the spirit would be free, or at the very least, have the ability to leave if it so wished.
Either way ----- spooooky!

you're right, probably the only reason people that viewed the painting from this thread thinks it's spooky because they were induced to think so.

Hey great marketing there dude..
Find the world,s biggest conspiracy site with a paranormal section then tell a ghostly tale about it.
Really! That,s the kind of strategy that gets those extra few bucks..
I particularly like the way that you mentioned that the auction was coming to a close to maybe hurry people up that may be curious about buying
it
EDIT EDIT EDIT
Whoops..
I just put my big fat foot in my mouth..
i missed this bit
Here is the original EBay description of this painting.........

I,m leaving my comments here as a reminder to myself and others to read carefully before making smart bottom comments..
SORRY again for doubting your integrity

I saw this a long time ago, and the same feeling came across me then...
Incess. Molestation, abuse, pain.
Not a haunted picture, just an artist that incorperated his feelings very well into the painting. Sick and twisted family produces an astounding
artist. The written words or music would have been a great thing to expereince (in a sad way), but I bet there was a fear of that in this artist.
(Male artist? Anyone know the artists name? I'd like to do some research on it).

I skipped the description at first just to avoid bias while looking at the picture. I don't know about it being haunted, but it's just a creepy
picture as it is. The little girl freaks the crap out of me.

While I do not doubt the power of suggestion, for the record -- I'd still check the burger. Of course, I've been known to eat raw eggs.. with raw
beef.. And considering how many casings of various bugs and other assorted animal parts I've eaten thanks to Oscar Meyers and Spam and the like..
I'm pretty sure I could handle anything!
Needless to say, the painting spooks me. I haven't figured out why.. if it's the lack of foreground, lack of background thru the window, the faces
or the figures.. not sure. Maybe because she looks like a doll (is that a shadow, or a disjointed arm?) and his face is that of a grown man's? (a mad
man, might I add..)
Maybe it's something that's simply visually unsettling.. doesn't make sense to the brain/eyes kinda thing..

Cool. I wouldnt hang that in my house, but i have alternative "Mona Lisas"...ever see them? They're awesome. I should make some "abstract art"
(anyone can do those) and put them up for sale. I could say my pet monkey made them and make a killing also.
I wonder if the buyer would ask to meet my monkey.

Me too. Like THREE YEARS (+/-) ago. So why is this still for sale?
The write up says that 'the auction is nearing the end'.
WHY is this taking three years or so to sell??
The painting is ugly. It wouldn't hang in my house simply because it's so ugly.
I DO believe things can be haunted, and perhaps this painting is one of them.
We had a haunted doll come in our house about 8 years ago. It was a simple
10$ doll from Kmart ... but oh the trouble it caused!! We got rid of it and
all was well again.

Absolutely fascinating. Sure the painting gives chills, but it's just because the artist captured the "scare" factor brilliantly - not because the
painting is actually haunted.
But then maybe you should read what the artist have to say about it...
Edit:
BBC's got the whole story pretty much covered.
Also with the pictures of the boy "stepping out of the painting". Fascinating!

The painting is good, I’ll give it that. There’s not much that scares me, but this one kind of jumped out at you and freaks you out when you first
look at it (especially when you read the story of the previous owner first). However, the image is haunting, but probably not haunted. A lot like a
horror movie, it’ll scare you as much as you let it, but the more I look at it the more the creeps wear off. I’ll go to sleep soon and I am a VERY
active dreamer, so if anything happens, I’ll certainly repost to change my opinion. Still, I definitely wouldn’t hang this demonic looking crap in
my house, it’s not something I would want to look at while trying to keep love and good feelings in my heart. Quite a few posts referred to using
the pic as a wallpaper, changing it, and then still seeing it on shutdown. I’m more inclined to think it’s something with the operating system,
because I’ve changed my wallpaper from a “sexy girl” of choice and still had it pop up on shutdown (and I’ve never observed anything
particularly haunting about Christina Aguilera’s body). Still, it’s a very good painting because: 1)the shadows on the boy are weird, his face
glows but his blonde hair doesn’t 2)the uneven sleeves and socks indicate he’s “not right”, and 3)anytime an animate creature has hollow eyes
they appear to be lost in some way or another. It’s not stopping me from wanting to go to sleep, but I’m kind of anxious to see if it’ll have
any effect on my extremely active dream cycles, cause my mind has cooked up everything from playing with puppies in the meadow to fondling mud
monsters shooting at me with guns made of macaroni. Also, I’d love to know wtf the girl has in her hands.
