Hay kids!

I don't know about you, but i love music. not the music that they generally play on the radio mind you, music. I have been fortunate enough to stumble on some great relatively unknown bands in my time, and i was just wondering if anyone else has one or two that they are dying to tell the world about.

my #1 would be a band called "MY MORNING JACKET" absolutely phenomenal. the lyrics, the music, it's all there. I would recommend the album "it still moves" and then the newest one called "Z" . If your wondering what happened to good old rock and roll, you'll find it there. I have been to shows seeing these guys where people fainted, or had to sit down. they are overwhelmingly the "real deal". it might take a few listens mind you, but if i could give you a money back garauntee i would.

what else am i missing?

be good.

the spits, if you like...well, anything good in this world.

if you like really silly rap, try 8-bit, from ninja star records.

from AZ, a strange (yet comedic) band I Hate You When You're Pregnant is awesome.

also from AZ, folk music in the form of Andrew Jackson Jihad.

Even more also from AZ, Twin Towaz...the most absolutely ridiculous rap ever.

if you like total badass rock and roll, check out the dwarves.

i could do this all day. be more specific as to what you want to hear.

25 cents, I'm not looking to hear any specific type of music, not sure what gave you that impression? just wanted to hear anything that people thought was cruely going unnoticed. I like it all! unless your gonna try to sell me on new country, might be a tough customer there.

thanks for the replies so far! much to ponder.

peace.

With My Morning Jacket over here, it seems since Z came out they've had a lot more press. Not as much as they deserve, but at the same time I don't really want them to become big.

Jack Johnson is a classic example of that. Inbetween Dreams got hyped up so much I've got fed up of him.

Iron & Wine is a good chap too. You listen to James Blunt on the radio non stop and just think why??? He's made it big and he's only got a little pinky fingers worth of talent compared to Sam Beam.

Jeniferever are this Swedish post rock band that have a great vibe going on too.

dios are horribly unheard of, in the UK at least. Their debut is uber.

and finally, those that haven't heard Neutral Milk Hotel's In the Aeroplane, Over the Sea, should be shot.

One old band Fludd. One newer band Crush Luther. One "borrowed" (cover) band, The Eagles Tail. One blue band, The Powder Blues.

Skinny Puppy, if you like Manson or NIN you might enjoy them. I've never heard anyone that had a sound quite like them. You can hear them on myspace.
