Word on the diplomatic street is that the US will not call for Israel to ceasefire, nor will support or abstain rather than Veto a UN resolution calling for a ceasefire for at least a week (if at all) to give Israel "a window" to destroy Hezbollah.

Of course, you can't obliterate a Guerilla organisation like Hezbollah in a week, if at all.
