I just hope they didn't strap some poor Citizen to the nosecone. (NK's first manned spaceflight!)

But really I think there is an attempt to divert the news coverage. And it's working!

Now it's serious, they just launched a third. CNN saying it's a typodong 2.

CNN reporting that it seems to have broken up after launch.

Typodong 2 launch confirmed.

Saying mechanical problem missile broken up and falling.

Stay tuned kids...or turn on CNN, FOX or BBC.

Possible security council meeting tonight

As i suspected from the start, a series of missile launches, the # has hit the fan, so to speak. I'm just glad that there appears to be technical problems with the 3rd, but... They launched it.

Maybe they're baiting the US to fire on a missile and reveal the ABM's positions, or at least their AEGIS or whatever they're using now to track targets.

Will we see a nuclear test in the pacific?

I don't think it's a high probability that they'll test a warhead on a test vehicle under threat of it being intercepted, but it's a possibility.

Now he question is did the 3rd launch come from the site being watched? Was the breakup an intercept or an accident? Was it on an intercept course intersecting the shuttle's orbital path?

I can't help but wonder if it broke up or was shot down. (It's the conspiracy nut in me )

It blew up "mid flight".

It doesnt matter what happened to it, they put it in the air. The act of 'provocation' has been committed.

As nerdling said it just broke up we didn't shoot it down.

I myself would not be suprised if there were a fourth or fifth launch.

N, Korea fired a T-1 over japan in 1998 forcing an agreement with the us that N. Korea signed, that they were not to test any more long range missiles. Looks like they broke the rules again...

Well, it was stated that any such launch would be an 'act of provocation'. They've launched it so really it's as good as it hitting its target.

Whether it blew up or was shot down is what we'll soon find out.
