Moun St Helens lights up the night

After weeks of bad weather and little activity (at least that we could see), Mount St Helens finally put on a good show last night, with a large outburst and the largest tremor (M3.3) for weeks. It seems likely that a large piece of the "fin" growing from the lavadome may have collapsed causing the bright display...

The flash movie was kind of dark, but still it was pretty cool. If it ever gets around to errupting I hope it dosen't get me.

But if the lava dome collapsed...?
