Bob88, if you weren't married, this lady would be the one for you!, Smart, good-looking, conservative; what more could a guy want?
Anyway, this editorial wonders how the media seems to downplay the religion of peeeeace's less than peaceful onsgoings of late. Interesting read, and one that might cause some to stop and wonder along.

"Despite overwhelming evidence to the contrary (generally found around Page A-12 of the Times), Americans have been cowed into perseverating that Islam is a "religion of peace." Candid conversations about Islam are beyond the pale in a country that deems Screw magazine part of our precious constitutional freedoms."

The rest... of the story:

Ann is great! Her columns are excellent.
TC, did you start reading Slander yet? I remember you saying you bought it: Isn't it a good book? Her wit is amazing, my new favorite phrase from Ann that appeared in a recent column "Why We Hate Them" : Ah yes we must mollify angry fanatics who seek our destruction because otherwise they might get mad and seek our destruction.

And check these out: (what a women)

Eek! You consider her a literary icon!?! Geez, you boys are more Right Wing than I thought! I've seen more meat on dog bones!
You guys actually didn't hear that most ALL of her 'facts' in her book were disputed & debunked? Or did you miss the fact that she wrote a gossip column & called it a book, literally slandering nearly everyone she mentions?
The skank came into being as an 'elf' for Ken Starr during the Whitewater disgrace ( you know, that rabid Right Wing Witch Hunt that spent $70M to find out Clinton likes BJ's?)
Look up some of her previous 'writings' that got her fired from her previous jobs. But then again, you guys probably find logic in someone who says of the Middle East that we should "Invade their countries, slaughter their leaders and convert them all to Christianity". Yeah, Ann the Man Coulter, one of my favorites!

more lies, half-truths, and disinfo from the centrist!

Um, excuse me, but our girl is a constitutional lawyer, not an editorialist by trade or profession.
As far as the attempts at debunking her work (by the way, have you read Slander?), I've read some flimsey liberal attempts at rebuttal, but as a clear minded individual would expect, all they could do is prove her exact points in their personal attacks.

Yes, Bob, I've just finished the book and am thinking of loaning it to someone. I doubt I will, though, as I'm tired of not getting my books back!

Yes, B-T, we remember the Ken Starr scene, and as a matter of fact, we remember the whole Clinton ordeal so you might want to wait to try some history revisionism crap. But then again, why wait. The liberals learned from the "Palestinians" in that if you tell a lie very loudly and consistently p[eople will believe you. Clinton supporters would love to make people think it was all about simple little indescretions, and so far, all that has proven to me is that 1) liberals knowingly lie as they were around during the Clinton Campaign Against America, and 2) Liberals have no idea what makes up that silly little thing called character . I'll not go into detail over point 2, which is going to cause some liberals to jump off in a hole that will prove my point.

Here's another outstanding editorial by her. A liberal cannot attack Miss Coulter's words, so they will attack her, the messenger. By the way, B-T, if you were within my reach when you typed in "skank", I'd have pimp-slapped you and called you Suzie, and you'd have asked for another!
For your info, though, when you buy her book and read it so that you'll actually know what she said while you try and debunk what it is that she said that you have not read (that was fun!), you'll notice that the book has enough footnotes to choke a Mississippi mule. Refute it if you'd like, but I'm sure you'll be left with the usual personal attacks against her.
Besides, how can you not like a woman who isn't afraid of guns? Well, maybe in your case its a matter of survival!

Anyway, here's the other editorial that I'm sure will irk the hell out of your "centrist" views! I'ts entitled:
Marines For Gays, Feminism and Peacekeeping

In reference to the guy that "fired" Ann Coulter. Seems there are alot of folks who like her "gossip" that has more footnotes in a chapter than liberal attempts at best-sellers have in the entire book! Go ahead, B-T, get the book. It's already a best-seller, so you won't be helping inflate her stature by purchasing it!

You are right about one thing B.T.
Clinton was a disgrace. You may not like her writings, but at least she has never embarrassed our country.

"Abbie Hofman of the Right", indeed.

Order numerous large pinches of sodium chloride; but entertaining and probably necessary for balance- among the mass-readership, at least : read a chapter of Palast and then a chapter of Coulter - it will make you a different person.

Revisonist History!?! My sac revisionist history! It was published by the GAO ( General Accounting Office) that the figure was $70M for BlowJobgate. Now with all your histerics & frothing at the mouth, name me one charge they investigated that he was prosecuted for besides doing what ANYONE would do when caught in adultery, which is to lie till it's proven?
Thomas Crowne defending a lawyer - boy, those other posted rants of yours are going to seem sily for you now. Guess what? She stopped earning her keep under the Esq. label some time ago: she's a full fledged member of the Pundit/Talking Head Society. Come on TC, you know how many of these columnist & talking heads are lawyers by trade? Most.
I read Coulter before, I read at least a half dozen of the reviews for he rag and I read a chapter at B&N over a double espresso. She is a cut below Dear Abbey as a gossip columnist, an extremely boring read, and sorry Thomas, scads of footnotes from the Lexus-Nexus search engine does not a literary masterpiece make. And as hard as your delusions & Rush want to make you believe it, the NYT, WP & Columbia Jounalism Review don't put out 'flimsy, liberal' critics of anything.
Being a best seller in a society with literary A.D.D. & completely controlled by TV is a resounding edorsement for quality, no?
Besides, you, Bob and nyeff are so firmly in the hate-Clinton-Rush-Drudge-Newsmax-Free Republic camp, you'll buy every fecal nugget dropped by Rush, Coulter, Hannity or any other Right Winger of that ilk. You can't make a click on any of those sites without them cross pimping their crap. You see boys, much like the forensic detective sifting through a savaged corpse, I read EVERYTHING. Even that crap that has you all so brainwashed & paranoid.

Thomas- well, you know, MUSH NUT EATER!

Bob- How's the Steelie run, they're on their way back out to sea, no?

Nyeff - ask yourself, is America better off than it was two years ago? People living below the poverty line has increased, crime is up, drugs usage is up, school test scores are down, air borne particulates & water degredation have increased, the economy is fast approaching Great Depression charateristics, the dollar is less valued that the euro, Foreign Investments in the US are dropping off, our tradeing is about to suffer blowback because of protectionist moves.....and Clinton got a BJ. Yeah, it evens out!

Estragon - You have this William F. Buckley flavor - sometimes too over crafted to discern a stance on a topic. If you meant that Palast is a true investigative journalist who provides corroberating data to his observations and Coulter is a hack who preaches solely to the converted, I'm in complete agreement.
Oh, yeah, Gadot told me to tell you he was waiting for YOU at the corner of Main St.....where were you?

posted on Oct, 30 2002 @ 10:34 AM
Slighly less pro Palast and somewhat more anti-Coulter and you have me, Bout-T.

posted on Oct, 30 2002 @ 10:58 AM
America is about the same. Most people knew the economy was going to take a nose dive.Even most of the dems I talked to 2 years before Clinton left office said the economy was going to crash. It was built up so fast with nothing left in reserve. And it started to decline while Clinton was still in office.People seem to miss the point about Clinton getting a BJ.
He is a married man.Married men with honor do not go running around with women half his age.Yes I found that to be very embarrasing. He was the laughing stock of the world. And the worm lowered himself even more by lying about.Great example for our childrenl.I loved explaining that one to my son.It is hard enough to raise children these days ,I don't need the President of the U.S. undermining the ethics and morales I'am trying to install in my children.

That is just the begining,if you like I can go into Clintons walk in closet and pull out a ton of skeletons.Just hope I can get the door closed once I open it.You know how hard it is to repack a tight package.

Nyeff - if you want to go blow-for-blow in a Clinton v.s. the Bush Crime family debate, it's going to be a Loooonnnng read for you!
First, having studied economics intensively in my post graduate work, I can tell you with all conviction, that our economey was at a plateau in the last days of the Clinton tenure; the recessions 'birthdate' is 3/2001. And prior to that plateau, when you have such long sustained economic growth, the best in our history, it does not take a leap of faith to say it will stop & eventually start to drop. Plain logic.
Clinton was not the laughing stock of the world, but the envy. What they were laughing at is how we allowed our leader to be besmirched by a rabid faction of the opposing political party. Other world leaders go out to dinner with their mistressess. Chirac had his mistress on the podium with him when he was sworn in. The number of world leaders who are poligamists far exceeds those who are not(can you say harem?).
What you need to be angry at is the Corporate Media broadcasting that into your home, in order to discredit a sitting president. The idiot that is King George never would have been capable without that same complicit media. Be angry at the Starr team going into exact detail of the sex acts. Ask yourself if that led any legitmacy to the argument to put in record every lick, tickle & fondle...instead of just saying sex? Did they think peopl would not have gotten the idea of sex without a graphic description for the public record? What purpose do you think that was really trying to serve?
Was it a breach of morals by Clinton? Absoulutely, and I hate that he was stupid enough to not do it or at least be more discreet. Maybe he thought that he'd get the same pass that every other president in the past century got: get some nookie & the press be quiet.
But when your conversation comes around to morals, don't forget to tell your kids that the current president went AWOL during war time & didn't get shot like the law states. Tell them that he was also on a three member Audit comittee for the company he was director of and stole money in insider trading. Tell them that he was arrested three time for public drunkeness and calls doing illegal drugs(coc aine) in his 30's "youthful indescretion". And, most importantly, don't forget to tell them about how he lies.

More meaningless attacks at the messenger. Sorry, nothing worth responding to.

After all the Clinton lies, coverups and scandals, you sure seem to be stuck on this b-J thing. Anything we need to know about you?

posted on Oct, 30 2002 @ 12:33 PM
Yes and Clinton was a draft dodger, that also did drugs.Oh he didn't inhale, please tell me you don't believe that. And as far as Bush being crooked, maybe he just took a page out of Clintons book.

Rather than taking up a lot of space I'll just post a link.Since one can go on indefenatly about Clinton.

posted on Oct, 30 2002 @ 02:22 PM
Thomas - oh shut up with that, will ya? I swear, you try and hoist that 'attack the messenger' weak misdirection for your lack of an argument again, you're gonna find me in 'Bama putting a size 12 Georgio Brutini dress shoe where the sun don't shine!

Nyeff - Please tell me who was a college kid in the 60's and DIDN'T smoke pot?!?!

Clinton was no draft dodger: he got academic deferements. He got half as many as Dick Cheney did. Or Karl Rove. Or Trent Lott. Or Rush Limbaugh. Or Tom DeLay. Or Phil Gramm. OR Jeb Bush. Or Dick Armey. Or Newt Gingrich. Or John Ashcroft. Ronald Reagan did serve, in Hollywood, making films to support the war effort. Funny how he got confused & started to tell 'war stories' about being in a bomber & such.
Now George did serve in the National Guard of Texas. Got put to the head of the class for flight school, ahead of 250 men on a waiting list, while having the LOWEST qualifying scores. ( you think the family fortune & that the family had dirt on the US government since they helped with Project Paperclip-the one to sneak Nazi scientists into the US war machine-had anything to do with that?) Funny thing is, George STILL WENT AWOL! Did he get a bullet for it? Nope, see answer above.
I went to the site you mentioned & found this disclaimer:
"Try these links, but use a grain of salt; some of the sources are pretty marginal, and most are openly partisan."

Now, let's get purely logical for a moment. The Starr Investigation had more lawyers than an ambluance car ralley, went on for forever, spent $70M of OUR MONEY, and came up with .......sexual indescretion & a lie about said indescretion!?!?! Now with ALL these ALLEGATIONS that the RIght Wing hurled about under the premise that if you say it enough time it must be true ( worked oun you, Bob & Thomas!), don't you think, for the LOVE OF LOGIC, they would have driven the nails into his cross with more glee than kids on Christmas morning!?! They investigated ALL THE ALLEGATIONS, hell they got $70M in receipts to prove that. So apply the logic, open your eyes to the anti-christ that is Bush, and understand that the Clinton scandals have been fully vetted.

Bring it on Yankee-Boy; after I stomp a mud-hole in your rear-end and then take my time walking it dry, I'm gonna fill your mouth full of boiled peanuts and then twist your arm until you whistle Dixie!

You'd better recheck your draft-dodger information on Clinton, and while you're doing that, check up on Klinton's stint in the Soviet Union.
Man, talk about refusing to get facts straight!

Check the list:

Look what Colin Powell had to say about people like GW ( no wonder they treat him like a stepchild!):

"I am angry that so many of the sons of the powerful and well-placed... managed to wangle slots in Reserve and National Guard units...Of the many tragedies of Vietnam, this raw class discrimination strikes me as the most damaging to the ideal that all Americans are created equal and owe equal allegiance to their country." (Colin Powells autobiography, My American Journey, p. 148)

This argument starts & stops with one acronym: AWOL
Added that it was AWOL from a CHOICE assignment AND During WAR, not only are Clintons academic deferments small potatoes & minor compared to the Chickenhawk list, I don't see how you can sing the praises of a DAMN COWARD WHO TURNED HIS BACK ON HIS DUTY AND COUNTRY!

Hey don't forget us Yankees had to fight our way in & out of neighborhoods, with all that multiculturalism and all; we're battle tested!
