While the Romanian agriculture ministry says that the data it provided is being misinterpreted by the politicians, Corneliu Vadim Tudor, a right wing leader, says that he believes the country was the victim of a meterological attack. Believers contend the attack originated in Russia.

BUCHAREST (AFP) - The Romanian senate has opened an inquiry into "indications" that floods that have battered the country were the result of a "metereological war waged by a foreign power," a senator said.

"We are planning to check indications and information that the extreme metereological phenomena experienced in July and August 2005 were caused by human technology controlled from abroad," Dan Carlan told AFP on Thursday.

It will become difficult to not start jumping conclusions anytime the weather gets dangerous. However unlike with guns, bombs and rockets; it will not be easy to identify the aggressor. Perhaps in Romania it is only a political ploy of some sort, but the reality is that the weather can be modified for both good and bad purposes.

I know weath control, or modification has been studies for quite some time. I did not think it was any where near this level though. Even when the terrorest uses a gun or bomb it is dificult to find all who is responcible, and now should the weather beacome the weapon of choice it seems it will be that much more dificult.

Governments do this to "seed" storms to basically make sure they happen before they hit major urban areas.

They have been doing it in Alberta, Canada for years. Hell they even discuss it on the radio!

Indeed. And if one were to do enough research with the most powerful computers in the world for decades, one would be able to identify and implement all the variables necessary to seed and feed a storm long enough to cause floods. Hey considering what the civilian world physically has access to as far as information and technology, is it possible these hurricanes over the past several years may as well be a joint attack by unknown powers in the world?

Quite an interesting technological feat., perhaps they should be using it to re-forest desert wastelands into thriving farms and natural ecosystems. Especialy in such deprived regions as North Africa and the Sahara, as well as Mexico, parts of Asia, and the Andes mountains by Chile.

My greatest concern about this technology are the unintended consequences, even when used with noble intentions. When you cause it to rain in one location you will be causing it not to rain in another. One population will be pleased at their new found garden of eden, while the other will be angry that their land is now barren.

LOL!

Last summer's floods were caused by low pressure over Central Europe. Initially it was Switzerland, Austria and Germany which were badly affected - by the heavy rains as well as subsequent flooding. The floodwaters drained into the Danube and then flowed down through Romania and Bulgaria.

A few news articles from the time are available on this old thread on Ukweatherworld.

So, we're meant to believe Romania's enemies decided to attack the country by using unknown technology to cause a deep depression to move over Europe and bring torrential rain to Switzerland ...... ROFLMAO

I'm sure after careful consideration and scientific analysis the Romanian's will come
to the obvious conclusion that their troubles were not caused by the Russians, but by
the very heart of darkness itself: Count Dracula.

hmm , the floods and storms of 2005 affected HUGE swathes of Europe . This seems like bait and switch to deflect attention and criticism away from deficiencies in the Roumanian response to a Europe wide problem .

the biggest single issue which excacerbated Roumanian flooding was IMHO the failure of the Danube dykes and flood defences - begging the question were they adequately maintained , were they built to the correct specifications , were improvements canncelled to " save " money ? etc etc

unlesss theres questions are answered , i would look towards Roumanian civil defence and preparedness failures , rather than a nefarious plot by a foreign power .
