I shall think of them fondly as I eat my buffalo sausage and spicey bald eagle wings...man them things is tasty with blue cheese.

God bless America.

Seriously how long are these people planning to sit in front of the white house? Is sean penn really going to just sit there for weeks and weeks without eating? Will any of these celebrities do that? I doubt it.

Willie Nelson? The guy is thin as a rail, he wont last a day.

Don't get me wrong, protesting the war is fine if that's your thing and it's what makes america great but I find it a bit silly to believe that Danny Glover, Sean Penn and other will go on a true hunger strike. They'll go for the day, maybe if they're real hardy they'll hang until about mid-morning the next day but at some point they're going to hop into a limo head to the watergate and order room service...before heading to their next movie project or back home to los angeles for a breakfast meeting at the four seasons.

Prove me wrong kids, prove me wrong.

Celebrity hunger strike? Read that to mean they'll skip the salad for lunch, but "just a touch more chicken, please".

Hold on jsobeckey, if they get a few anorexics involved the government could fall.

I agree, this is a joke and should be treated as such.

Cindy claims she's gonna fast for TWO months,....yeah, RIGHT :shk:
www.exposetheleft.com...

Does she plan on sitting on the WH lawn for two months?
Somehow, I don't see THAT happening.
And, who cares if they go on a hunger strike? Just HOW is that gonna end the war in Iraq

Remember her camped out on the road to Crawford

The newest Hollywood diet craze just in time for beach wear.

The Reflecting Pool Diet.

Oh no! What does a hunger strike prove? A few hundred ,maybe thousand, people refuse to eat. More food for the rest of us. What a way to celebrate the fourth.

I don't live in washington DC but are there any members in the dc area who'd be willing to go and set up a barbecue across from the hunger strikers?

Seriously I'd totally be willing to chip in for hot dogs or tofu dogs or whatever.

Again, I have nothing against people protesting the war but to miss such a prime opportunity for a prime shenanigan is almost too much to take.

Shenanigans are the way of the world BUT don't limit yourself. Think RIBS and Kansas City sauce.

This is a joke, but a win-win situation also. Either they cave, showing the world how uncommitted these publicity hungry vapid vampires truly are, or they die, and we're a few celebrities lighter.

Pulled pork sandwhich with cole slaw and Kansas City style sauce. Yeah Baby.

Still the smell of pretty much anything being barbecued is bound to mess with hunger strikers.

Didn't work out for Homer Simpson.

Maybe one of these "celebrities" will read this thread on ATS and decide against this hunger strike.
Or maybe their publicists will see the light and cancel.

I also think its ridiculous. What they should do is send fat, known people who you know would die if they skipped a meal-that would be impressive.
As far as the rest- Its just one less salad. big deal.

These things never made sense to me. If I were the government, and you were protesting me by not eating, who do you think can hold out longer? In my own humble opinion this is a PR stunt, we ALL know nothing will come of this. I think I'll pay attention to the days sports instead of this garbage.

Cindy Sheehan, Danny Glover, Sean Penn and Susan Sarandon.

Sheehan is in serious need of mental health help.

Danny Glover? He's a communist and hasn't had a REAL acting job in years.
And no, I'm not being paranoid saying he's communist. He really is one.

Sean Penn? Sincere, but an idiot. Remember that trip to Iraq and him whining
about how Saddams government twisted his words and his trip around? Duh.
Not bright!!

Sarandon? She's just a radical lefty. Foaming at the mouth. Can't tolerate
anything or anyone's opinions except her own. Even her own mother can't talk
to her grandchildren because her mother isn't 'left' enough. (saw that interview
on tv - Sarandon is a whack .... good actress ... but a whack).

So I'm not impressed with the 'celebrity' list. Heck, I'm not impressed with
celebrities in general. Most suffer from hyper-reality. They think we hang on
every word and action of theirs and they have no mental connection with the
real world. They can make fools of themselves and they can do what they
want. I don't care.

I'm in Delaware. Too far away to drag a grill; but I am definately close
enough to grab a few hot dogs from a street vendor and wave them in
front of that idiot Glover's face.

You are on to something Spiderj ... I am going to give that SERIOUS
consideration for the 4th. I'll keep an eye on the weather. Hey ...
are the metros dryed out? They were underwater and not running
a few days ago. If they are dry ... and if the weather is okay ...
ha ha ha ha ha ... I think I just found a VERY cool way to entertain
myself on the 4th!!!!

Protestor calling the media, "We're having a hunger strike in front of the White House."

Media, "What time will it be?"

Protestor, "What time can you get here?"

It'll all be over when the camera's leave....

What exactly do you mean by that? Did you mean its over before the cameras get there? Because of course it will be over by the time the cameras leave, thats all this is about is publicity. No cameras= Mission failed.

Why you gotta pick on Willie, I betcha he will not cave in first.

You can't figure this one out? Maybe it has something to do with a certain activity that Willie likes to engage in...a certain activity that leads to...hmm...The munchies...

Upping The Ante

This is all fine and good, and I'm glad to see Hollywood hasn't become less sanctimonious with the passage of time.

But they should be prepared for a grueling ordeal.

Word on the street has it that some Freepers might park a few hot dog carts and hold a bake sale (hot dogs and apple pie... mmmm!) upwind as a counterprotest.

Oh the humanity!
