Yup. Quite amazing isn't it that they managed to repeat some of the same problems!


The A/D models had the problem with vortex burst on the 'vertical' fins... and surprise, surprise, so did the E/F.

The E/F program also had the wing drop and underwing buffet problems, which forced solutions that compromised performance.


If the E/F didn't have its radar advantage over most contemporary fighters, it would certainly not be a 'kick-ass fighter'. In my opinion that reflects very poorly on the airframe.
