As the thread implies, I am quite curious as to see how such a process even begins. The boards and internet on the whole are wildly filled with differing, often directly contrasting, information.

Must one be approached by a local Mason? Are there places that the curious might read up on the more publically recognized aspects of such an order?

1) Approach a Mason
2) Ask

They're not supposed to approach you to recruit. It's a no-no. 2B1, Ask 1.

You might do a search on this site (ATS). You'll find more info on Masons than you can probably read in a week. Pro and con. With plenty of links for further investigation.

Good luck.

Please ask how to join masonry and other masonry only questions on masonic discussion boards, such as:
lodgeroomuk.com.
