I just watched the movie "SYRIANA" with George Clooney and Matt Damon, so what type of weapon did the CIA use to take out the Amir and his family riding in the Range Rover?

It's not anything. Clearly the imagery and context are intended to be those of a Predator drone. However; the AGM-114 Hellfire which is the most common Predator A2G weapon is not carried internally in a bay (the Predator has none), nor is it a dropfire missile (it fires forward, off a rail, which greatly restricts target geometries in many instances).

It should also be noted that if the Predator is truly 7 miles up, it is outside the launch envelope of the AGM-114B and probably also the K. It is also pressing the limits of the AAS-52 MTS to provide the video quality shown.

Having read Mr. Baer's book, I passed on the film.

It’s supposed to be the MQ-1L Predator UAV, this version is equipped with two AGM-114 Hellfire missiles.

If it's armed, it cannot be an 'RQ' anything (M=special mission or missile-guided, R=Recce, Q=drone/expendable target, IIRR).

If it's not an MQ-9 Predator B (vee tail pointed up), it shouldn't be dorking around up at 35,000ft with weapons anyway.

A predator drone well that makes sense, I thought they were dropping a missle from a military satellite.
