I always like the Occam's Razor argument, but turn it around a little. The simplest explanation is generally the right one. Regarding UFOs, it
might be simpler and easier to accept that at least some of the witnesses and sightings are seeing and describing exactly what they
encountered. That there are far too many observations and descriptions by credible observers to reasonably, rationally explain them all away as
hoaxes, hallucinations or misidentifications. The "explanations" eventually become more far-fetched than even aliens from other planets.
Call somebody a "pelicanist," too. They like that.
