Russian Military and Intelligence analysts are both reporting today that North Korea is in preparations to launch strategic ballistic nuclear missiles against what they believe to be an imminent invasion by the United States as evidenced by the massive American Naval Armada launching what is called their ‘Valiant Shield’ exercise in the Pacific Ocean today, and as we can read as reported by South Korea’s Chosun News Service in their article titled "U.S. Keeps Mum on Warships in East Sea", and which says:

"The U.S. has declined to tell the South Korean military if one of its Aegis destroyers is plowing the East Sea with a view to intercepting a long-range ballistic missile North Korea is allegedly planning to launch.

Washington normally gives Seoul due notice when an aircraft carrier or Aegis ship is headed into Korea's maritime operational zone, but it sometimes keeps quiet about ships it sends into international waters off North Korea. Military insiders say there is a good chance the U.S. already has an Aegis vessel in the East Sea.

Meanwhile, the U.S. started the largest military exercise in 10 years. The operation codenamed "Valiant Shield" takes place in waters surrounding Guam, with three aircraft carriers joining drills from Monday until Thursday."

Well I guess it's time to rock and roll baby. I say shoot the thing down as fast as it is seen on radar and lock gained. Then just send the message "not today".

If NK sends a missle into USA air space, I hope the US send one right back!

We can't let NK do this!

I don't know, he has a point.

For all our military prowess, it we couldn't stop an attack by four lumbering commercial jets, let alone a mach 15 ICBM.

What ought to keep the North Koreans from doing anything foolish is not some magical shield against ICBM's that may or may not work, but the fact that the US is capable of retaliating at least a thousand-fold for any attack by North Korea.

The NMD system might be capable of taking out an incoming ICBM. SM-3 might be capable of taking out the missile in it's boost phase. But I wouldn't want to bet my life on either.

What does give me some reassurance is the fact that NK has to know that any nuclear attack on the US would be a suicidal act.

I must say I haven't learnt much about why the North Koreans behave as they do. But I've learnt that North Korea is preparing to launch a bit of metal into the air. I wonder what Kim Chim thinks. "I am a crazy guy who owns a crazy country that's just launched a missile today?"
Well I don't know much about you but I wouldn’t get too bothered about it. Kim Chim knows that his military is one of the crappist in the world. Yes it can afford weapons of mass destruction; but that's only because he puts nearly all his countries effective military spending into them.

The rest of the money is put into maintaining an army for a place so bad to live in that its people will risk their lives just to try to escape from it. And it's not that bad for nothing. The system of government not only keeps its people under control it also keeps them poor. If Kim Chim wanted money for his people he could easily make more room for it. There are plenty of examples of horrible dictatorships with socialistic economies that have embraced at least some capitalist principles. I think the trouble is Kim Chim is lazy, and perhaps not very brave about confronting his own people (the type that don't execute easily). Therefore he appeals to us (the west) to give his country money.

Recently that money doesn't seem to have been too forthcoming. I bet Kim Chim is jumping up and down in his little palace with rage. So (through his eyes) there can only be one thing to do.
Remembering he employed some mad scientists to work on crazy stuff behind one of his mountains somewhere in north eastern Korea; Great Leader 2 has decided to order that his best missile (in the flock) be loaded with fuel (conventionally under the nose of U.S satellites) and then just allowed to sit there.
Korea television will never tell you this but I have funny a feeling that something might have gone terribly wrong. The missile might be a bit rusty, or maybe the Pakistanis sold the wrong bits? In ether case I'm sure it will be fixed up in a couple of days but only after the Western media has got tired of covering the same story. Then in front of a gob smacked audience Kim Chim will dream of flying his missile over the United States with the message “my people might not be able to escape my country but our explosives can”. This in Kim Chim’s eyes will surely be a good way of reducing missile maintenance costs; and at the same time somehow show the world his country badly needs money.

I say this madness with confidence because North Korea has launched missiles before (like over Japan). And it did it for similar reasons.
My attitude is that North Korea has no need to launch this missile because providing it hangs onto its WMD’s it won’t be invaded. If it wants money it should go to the Americans directly and say “I have a missile for sale how much will you Americans give me if I don’t sell it to the Iranians?”. This is the only sustainable way North Korea can have both aid and WMD’s. Firing crazy bits of metal into the air will achieve nothing but trouble (un less of course it really is part of a more urgent military exercise). Somehow I don’t think Kim Chim planes to go on the offensive (unless of course he also fancies buying his palace a new roof).
