yes you are right and may i add this is a way for the young ones to gain points faster and easier, and also in some respects this thread is a satire of sorts for the most ingenious threads i ahve seen yet

do a podcast 2.5k per podcast if youre aching for points

Tagging is very important to ATS.

For one beneficial tag, you can recieve 75 points. How many hours would you need to spend on ATS to pick up 75 points in posting?

Have you noticed though, that the maximum points for BTS thread tags has been reduced to 30 points?

ATS and PTS remains at 75 though, for the maximum.

Really? BTS is being discriminated against.

I can remember noticing this before, I just thought the thread was not idle long enough to qualify for the 75 point bonus.

Members should not be all bent out of shape on points. If they are, each time you log in spend a few minutes tagging. In no time at all you will have accumulated enough points to last you quite awhile. Before you leave whip up a podcast, and somewhere in the middle post a few quality posts.

Post = 1 Point
Posts in one of Your Threads = 2 Points
Tagging = Up to 75 Points
Applause! = 250 Points
PodCast = 2500 Points
Contests = Random Values (Usually a Few thousand)

in "earning" points, a pastime whose purpose eludes me, is at time a detriment to this site. Posting simply for the sake of earning points is an occupation whose purpose also eludes me. I consider "earning points" responding to a thread with "my take" on it. People can agree or disagree but at least I stated my opinion. What I post hopefully will make someone else to think and, then, post something in reply. Ultimately, it is hoped a diaglogue will develop in which information is brought to light and everyone learns something. In a nutshell, that's why I'm here at ATS/BTS/PTS.

Of course, it is fun to start "stupid" threads and it's often more fun to respond to them but they should be started with "having fun" in mind -- not the unbridled pursuit of "points". If someone really is concerned about getting a "Kajillion points" then tagging a "kajillion" threads will make someone the "top dog" pointwise. Frankly, I wish there was an ATS Banking system so that I could simply transfer or give my points away to someone who wanted them, needed them or felt so driven that he felt that he needed to post inane stuff.

(oh, by the way, don't bother suggesting that we have an ATS banking system.....been there, done that....thread closed. I still think it's a good idea but the logistics, as was explained to me, among other things at the time, would be untenable and it's not a direction that site intends to go).

so in life when bored just come to bts and join the fun, so maybe we should all get together and make a sport of getting out of being bored, possible i do believe, there are so many ways, tagging is fast, still i do not understand how too, podcasts are fun and more difficult to work, frankly i dont know how to.... haha well lets go

o very interesting, iam still interested by this thread, it helps gain intell while in the meantime feed my boredom and others, but can we make a network of threads that were ideas for more points but failed and then the ones that are still going, like how many points has this three word storry brought the maker, i just wonder....
