The majority of them are, yes. But there are many members from other countries, as well. Just take a look at the other introductions in this forum, for example.

I'm a member from Canada, and I see a lot of other Canadians on the boards. I think you'll find mebers from all over the world.

A member named bodrul has a map going that members have been adding pins to.
Stop by this thread and add yourself to the map if you want, I don't think we have representation from Bejing yet.

But I think it is not an expensive journey to China for American.
Our government adopted a very stupid policy--low exchange rate policy
which only in favor of foreigner, but unfair to Chinese people.
that means in China your money can buy at least 3 times of goods or
services compare with in America
So, I guess 2000 USD will be enough for you to travel around China.
Of course, if you insist on living in 5-star-hotel and travel to everywhere by aeroplane, things will be different.
