Why a Spanish name like Alberto?? Shouldnt it be Albert?

Damage to America has been done.
This is America, speak Spanish.

..besides, Alll-berrr-to rolls off the tongue a lot better than just plain old Albert.

Most likely because there has been a relatively recent(past 10 or so years) storm named Albert is my guess...

... Also after they started giving storms men's names as well they started being more diversified with them.

Okay, final post here

I just noticed that this thread was started in 2006, so I apologize to the author for my possibly-pissy sounding correction in my first post, when I corrected the first named storm to Alma.

Note to self: watch the dates.
