I never really appreciated the American abstract artist, Jackson Pollack, until a few years ago. At that time, I stumbled upon an article in a long
forgotten magazine about how Jackson's work somehow related to fractals. I must admit that I didn't really understand the article at the time but
it started me thinking. Later, a movie came out about Jackson Pollacks' life. It was a fascinating film with interesting insights about the
American abstract art movement. It was while viewing the artwork depicted in that film that mesmerized me. I "got it". What had been
"meaningless squiggles of paint on a canvas" were, somehow, transformed for me. My paradigm of understanding had shifted and I became a fan of
Pollacks' work.
I found a cute little website that helps to
"unleash the Jackson Pollack". Give it a try but I warn you.
I'm sure that you will spend far too much time "painting" your own abstract masterpiece.
