anyone use FRAPS?

First time to use it today, I want to know is there a way to make the video size it saves a lot smaller? for a 30 sec video its 200 mbs.

I've never used FRAPS, but most video capture warez will have a function where you can adjust the output size and quality. Also see if you can reduce the frame rate (fps). And try different output formats. I think avi is always pretty big. There should be compression setting as well, to compress the audio to mp3 format, and the video to mp4 (I think). Not my area of expertise, but HTH...

I figured it out, needed to recompress the video afterwards, I used Virtual Dub and the divx codec.


works good now, 12 mbs for a 30 sec video instead of 200+

Hey, I have used fraps to record my online gaming sesions sometimes.
Your going to have to recompress....but i guess you already firgured that
one out. Can use Aftereffects to do this, a great compression is Seronson.
Very small and great qaulity.

My windows installation comes with "Windows Movie Maker". You can click and drag your AVI's in the scene, and then save them as WMV, they have a "best fit to file size" option where you can pick the file size you want to make it. It will compress it as needed to fit that file size. Its pretty usefull.
