Alex Jones, famed American activist and conspiracy theorist, was detained at the Ottowa airport Wednesday night. Police confiscated his passport, camera, equipment, and left him with nothing but a change of clothes. Jones and his crew are there to film a documentary on the Bilderberg group.

Canadian authorities detained an American activist filmmaker at the Ottawa airport late Wednesday night, confiscating his passport, camera equipment and most of his belongings.

Citizenship and Immigration Canada agents stopped Alex Jones, whose films include Martial Law 9/11: The Rise of the Police State, and questioned him for nearly four hours before letting him go with only one change of clothes and telling him to return Thursday morning.

“It’s really chilling, like a police state,” said Mr. Jones of his detention.

Goes to show what happens when "money" and politics coincide. I'm sure they had no plausible reason to be detained other than the fact that the Bilderberg group thought he might be a threat to them in some way.

A Citizenship and Immigration representative stated “As a result of the privacy act, we are forbidden from discussing individual cases." Loosely translated, they're going to give his equipment back once the meeting is over.

Granted, this may be a small incident, and granted a lot of people don't like Alex Jones, but this is seemingly becoming more and more common in our ever, yet quietly, expanding police state.

Interesting.

Mr. Jones said that he and the agents had reconciled prior to his release.

“I want to say, on the record, it takes two to tango. I could have handled it better.”

But he did make it.

Talk-show host Jones said he almost didn't make it.

So, does anyone know why he was detained in the first place?

the immigration officers who were giving him the insanely hard time of interrigation ended up falling apart in tears and apologizing to Alex when they couldnt find anything illegal on him or his crew, they said they had families and were afraid of losing their jobs, and were under strict orders from 'the conference group' to not let Alex into Canada

I have seen videos of Alex Jones asking, I mean "interrogating" people... He just yells anything and everything that comes to his mind at representatives, and when he is taken away for harrassing people, being a jerk and plain violent, he continues yelling and then claims he is in a "police state"... He is always looking for trouble and when he finds it, he claims "that is proof of a police state"....

He has shown what he really is when he asked Chavez to help him find the truth behind 9/11...

Where did you get that from?

Any real articles where this is being said?

Yeah he was there with us and he explained it all to us at the bilderberg meeting. He was detainned 16 hours!! And the drill sergent was shouting at him for about 2 hours, and a break of 15 minutes, another 2 hours, like that for 16 hours and Jim Tucker contacted others medias so he can be released by the immigration people.

The Ottawa Sun link is no good, and PrisonPlanet is Alex's own site - so there is no reliable source. As per his norm, he seems to be embellishing the truth to get his name out there to people. Of course, where I come from, we call that lying.
