Zarqawi done been got!

Jordan terrorist leader Zarqawi was dusted in a minor cfrontation with a couple of 500 pound bombs. Him dead.

Presdient Bush was somewhat restrained in his apprasial of this news. It seems Bush has learned from the past. The strutting is liable to backfire as it did with his victory speech on the deck of the USS Abraham Lincoln. Or after the capture of Saddam Hussein which did not effect the war in any measurable way.

Will Zarqawi's death be a turing point for our side in the war? Will his death start the final decline in the inurgency?

We will have to wait and see. but it does bring to mind this old joke about Uncle Ho:

What effect wil Ho's death have in the war in Vietnam? Reduce the enemy by one.

The DEATH was a significant one for the Iraq campaign. One or two things will NOW happen....... ONE, it will deflate the morale of the terrorists (which don't count on).... or TWO, which is much more likely, it will be like hitting a hornet's nest with a baseball bat as hard as you can........ SOMEONE is going to get STUNG BADLY! Unfortunately, if Ho Chi Minh's death is any indication, if you will recall, it was a rallying point for the NVA and VC and, if memory serves, every military base or firebase in Vietnam was rocketed and mortared out the kazoo.

I HOPE it will knock the wind out of their sails a bit... but FEAR that is will not.
