and to think I was only 11 when you were in Saigon.............And, "How",you ask." did a little tyke like me get to see "Barbarella?" Simple,
one of my best friend's brothers owned a movie theater chain and we'd ditch school once a week and go to the movies.
(You should of seen some of the promo posters for "Barbarella" that couldn't be put up in the theater lobbies, LOL, now there would have been a
poster to hang in your bunker!)
I was raised in a very well versed community and around many service men from many wars. The community embraced their returning soldiers and had
enough common sense to know that they had served well and done what was asked of them, right, wrong, or indifferent. It was the government that
created the snafu and that's where the community put it's blame, on the powers that be.

Zubaz may have a point there. All I know about camels is that they spit if you get too close. So keep your distance.

Hated her then, hate her now, wouldn't give the woman the time of day. As far as being young and "foolish", that may have been the case, but with
that said, you still have to be responsible for your actions no matter how much time has passed.
Oh...Where do I get one of those stickers...hubbys aim is awful, I'm thinking being he's a Marine the sticker could help

My thoughts exactly.... Forget her age with being young and foolish. How many men and women were young and foolish that are listed on the wall. Some
of these true Americans had a choice in being in Vietnam, many didn't.
As far as I concerned, there are special places in hell for people like her.

This is the definition of treason:
NOUN: 1. Violation of allegiance toward one's country or sovereign, especially the betrayal of one's country by waging war against it or by
consciously and purposely acting to aid its enemies.
Contributing to the North Vietnamese propaganda campaign by posing on an AAA gun mount IMHO fits the bill. Not counting the possibility of her
contributing to the death of prisoners. This would, in most civilian circumstances result minimally, in charges of accessory to murder.
Being "young" is no excuse. While most of us did stupid things when we were young, I don't think that most of what we did would be equivalent to
this level of criminal behavior.
Because of her family and wealth, she got away with it.

Everyone does stupid acts or unpopular acts, and in Jane's case protest of the war was not that big of a deal and was actually in line with a large
portion of the population.
There are acts and then there are unforgivable acts, and she did an unforgivable act. Her going to Vietnam was close but was not the true unforgivable
act. That one act that paints her to this very day as a traitor against America was the photo op of her smiling and joking with the Vietnamese
officials as she sat in an anti-aircraft gun getting all the finer details on how to work it. This is the same anti-aircraft gun pointed and fired at
American planes with the sole purpose to kill Americans.
Oh, I almost forgot that she was slipped a list of names of POWs and instead of keeping it secret she showed it to the Vietnamese official to get an
answer as to if their suffering was real.
Well it was real and got even more real after that little act of hers.
Some acts are just not forgivable…
