thequixotic,
It is a very excellent illusion, I'll give him that. Just remember, this is on TV. David Blaine has been exposed several times for using
post-production editing, paying off so-called "observers off the street", and using wire work that was edited out later. Case in point...

Blaine used a well-known magic technique to levitate up off of the ground. The technique allows a performer to lift off of the ground about three
inches.
But what you don’t realize at home when you’re watching on TV is that Blaine intercut a shot of himself hanging from a crane, which made it appear
that he was levitating some two or more feet off of the ground. The crowd’s reactions were real, but what they saw was Blaine lifting up a few
inches, not two feet. The illusion was nothing more than a camera trick.

And this as well. Read the last part carefully...Sound familiar?

Another problem, when a performer uses such camera tricks on television, it casts a pall on everything else that the entertainer demonstrates, even if
the tricks can be performed live.
After all, if a performer is relying on a camera trick for one effect, what’s to keep him from using the camera
again on another impossible-looking, beyond-explanation stunt?

Don't believe everything you see on TV. This, and Criss Angel's Levitation, were tricks and illusions. My guess is Criss did something very similar
to the above Blaine trick. As in the observers were paid off, and the suspension wires removed in post-production. This was not a live special. I was
not there and neither were you, although it would have been neat to see(plus we might have made 50 bucks!).The only people that know how
trick
was done for sure are Criss and his crew.
Oh, and here is a link to the builing to building levitation . It is really well done and cool to watch, I agree. But it looks kinda fake to me
though, the way he moves and spins before levitating off the first building screams crane and wires to me!

Anyway, thats the best I could come up with for now. If I find out any more specifics on this trick, I'll post it.
