The road of Kings
When i was a fighting man
the war drums they beat,
the people scattered roses
at my horses feet.
But now i am a great king
the people hound my track,
with poison in my wine cup
and daggers at my back.
Their deceipt breeds my ire as they move as one,
and so i cry "move, let those traitors come".
So i rise and let them see death in my sword,
"come you dogs and villians, just you say the word".
And at once the King moved, vigourously, into the fray,
many men died charging the king that day.
He fought with fury, with honor and pride
and he called a curse upon those villians the second that he died.
So the lion lay upon the bloodstained floor,
destined to rule another realm forever more,
about his frame a score of dead and dying men,
rogues and villians all, who called the king their friend.
And the traitor that slayed the king
across his path a shadow fell,
the darkness moved and began to sing
"the lion stalks the halls of hell"
and so the kings dying curse
soon came to pass
as villians cried aloud
amidst the trumpet blast
"the honest lion is caged at last".
So woe to rogues of river and plain that the lion should ever stalk again,
For on the road the darkness sings, beware ye villians on the road of kings.
Ahhhh. truly bad poetry. gotta love it.
