www.richardsyrett.com...

scroll down untill you see "Ancient Sound Recording or a Hoax?" and click on it. you must have realplayer in your puter to listen.

i tried searching to see if this has been posted already but i got nothing. so forgive me if this is a repost.

i find it very fascinating. the whole ceramics audio record bit. i do believe it. this gives a whole new spin to my understanding of ceramics and pottery. im an artist... albeit a painter... but i talk to and work around folks into pottery and ceramics... and im going to get these cats opinion first. they know about the chemistry in different ceramic structures... especially of old.

im sure they will love this story.

what do you all think... hoax? or legit?

Ancient Sound Recording from Pompeii?

Great story, but gee, doesn't it sound familiar?

Probably because the idea comes from a Gregory Benford short story "Time Shards" and the film made as an April Fool's joke for Zalea TV by Belgian film maker Bilge Sehir

And here's a link to the Museum of hoaxes about it.

Oh, and the film's site itself.

There is very small, black text at the top that reads "'Poisson d'avril de journal televise", which is French for "April Fool's newscast". Case closed
