meaning of a dove

Hello,

I was just wondering if anyone knew if there is supposed to be some meaning behind seeing a dove. I saw one for the first time today as it perched itself on my house gutter and was facing me as I swam. I pretty much stopped swimming and noticed that it had what appeared to be some sort of white flower in its hand or whatever they call those things. Thanks.

Meaning has a great deal to do with your beliefs and associations.

Doves are usually associated with love and peace. Someone once told me that if you see a dove, the spirit of a deceased loved one is visiting you.

I have been visited by a beautiful dove 2 mornings in a row. I have been working very hard on learning more about our universal energy and the spirit that grows in us.
I do believe it is a sign that the Holy Spirit is visiting me threw a love on that has gone on to his new life (my father) I always talk to him. He was and is a wonderful person (now spirit) that always guided me. I believe he is helping me with this growth and my future.
