just a few weeks ago, i ran across a thread or forum on this exact meme...i've looked at deoxy.org then at Paranormal.com....anyhow I had to ask BOB->

...and Bob says look mind.ucsc.edu...

~~~
in there is some 'twins' dreaming stuff, and so-on...
me? yeah, the dream characters can be made manifest, thats a form of conjuring...are foreign bodies and persons invading your brain.?..they can and do
BUT, all dream images are not trespassers or spies or thieves in your sleepy-time brain....most are only conjured mind realm entities, fashioned by your own intellect , from the messages recieved from all the cells & organs & life support systems in your body...
'they' are constructs of cellular communication...in a 'language' you can understand or have interpreted.
(mostly fashioned by memoried chemical/neurological associations with emotions or other sensory inputs)
example: a real life experience of a dog woofing, in a drizzly, overcast day...could make 'meloncholy' the emotion/image/memory connection...then when dreaming a furry bespeckled raccoon might dance, ala britany spears funk, the linkage & connections may be frazzled,,,but the emotional 'language translation' is there-- for a trained dream interperter to uncover with your help...ooops, take what you need and leave the rest, as the saying goes
And you are concerned? about the SCANNERS and INTRUDERS?? or the images in general??
for different needs: Psychiatrists, Psychologists,Shamans,Exorcists::there are Specialists!
I am quite certain this is not the case.
Do you boys really think that everytime you dreamt of angelina jolie, she was somewhere dreaming of you as well?
I never, in my entire life, have had a dream about, featuring, pertaining to, or whatever else a celebrity in any sort. But good point though.
Well seeing as who she was married to (Billy Bob Thornton) then maybe she just might have been!
You mean this doesn't just happen to me?
I've heard that the elders of gypsy tribes were able to "cross" physically (There was this one time I awoke with a thin layer of dust on my body... that was odd!). I do understand that some dreams are just that, dreams... while others are more. I have been known to astral travel, most of the time without consciously doing so (which is a strange thing, too... they say you cannot feel anything when detatched from your body... NOT TRUE!)
Anyway...
As for dreaming about Angelina... hell no. I don't think I've ever had a "normal" dream... most of mine consist of... other things. (besides, as far as actresses go, to me she really isn't all that "great").
When I dream about other people, like my husband or daughter or mother, I'll ask them the next day if they had a dream about me or if their dream was like mine. So far ... only twice have I had the same dream at the same time with the same people. Both times with my mother when I was 25 or so. MANY years ago ....
A lot of people would have a blast under controlled conditions with psilocybin. Its effects mimics rem sleep however with more or less full clarity and access to the subconscious.
You dont just see people you know.... You gain access to past memories that you had forgotten or suppressed
so last night i was reading through this forum and other forums right before bed. ive recently been trying to lucid dream with very little luck until last night. i want to write this down now before i forget. so basically towards the end of my dream i was standing alone in my kitchen facing a small window, at that point i was not in a lucid state. then i all of the sudden say out loud in my dream, "This is a Dream" immidietly i feel a strange shift in my body and head and a massive rumbling noise started as soon as i realized it was a dream. i was close to lucid dreaming but i became a little too aware and woke myself. when i woke up i thought "that's a start". first time ive really gotten even close to lucid dreaming. anyway i could have swore i read another thread on ATS about this subject somebody else also claimed to hear a loud rumbling sound when they started their lucid dream state. does anybody know if the post i think is real actually is, or if its just a product of my mind? also any stories of your lucid dreams would be cool. i was there in the right state of awareness for a moment, then i let the awareness become too great and wake me up, sounds like i need more practice.let me know your thoughts and opinions
I can honestly say that sometimes YES people are there! My partner and I were very good friends before we became partnered, but living in two separate cities. I remember one night I dreamed we were talking and she asked me if she could stay at my place for a few weeks over summer when her work shut down for a while - I said yes and discussed a few details. When I woke up, I thought nothing of it - then she rang two hours later to ask if she was going mental, or did she ask if she could stay in a dream?? I told her she wasn't going mental - or not more than usual anyway! We confirmed a few details we had discussed in the dream and that was that! Afterwards it was not unusual for me not to speak to her for weeks, and something would happen between when we spoke last and the current discussion, but I would know things that she had not told me about in real time, but I had dreamed she told me and the details would be correct.
Every so often, I dream of people that I haven't seen for ages like old school friends or ex-boyfriends. I won't have even been thinking of them, and other than that the dream in itself isn't really that significant.
I had one dream about a certain ex, and after a few weeks decided to get in touch with him, to check if he was ok, and he said he had just got married. I don't know if my subconscious is just reminding me of these people, if we're all in an astral plane together or if I'm picking up some sort of energy. Other than these couple of odd experiences, I haven't much experience with anything spiritual or paranormal, but I wonder if people make some kind of spiritual connection once they get to know each other.
