How many threads have predicted war against Iran this summer? Well, you never read one like this.

The
USS Enterprise is about to enter the Persian Gulf. This move puts the most famous of all US Navy warships in harms way, and by coincidence, the most modern fresh out of refit.

It replaces the USS Reagan, which is moving to the Pacific, where the USS Lincoln is currently operating, and where the USS Kitty Hawk is currently at sea testing combat systems.

4 US Aircraft Carriers forward deployed to sea is impressive, but 4 Carriers ready to go is equally impressive. The USS Eisenhower CSG just complete certifications for its deployment later this summer, while the USS Washington is also surge ready, recently returning to port with its weapons after a 2 month surge cruise to the Caribbean. The USS Roosevelt recently welcomed a Marine F/A-18F squadron, which is interesting, considering Marine Squadrons are for Close Air Support. The USS Stennis is also preparing for deployment later this year after recently completing a refit.

But everyone knows a war with Iran means a the Navy needs a priority on minesweeping. Well, for that you need the USS Momsen and the USS John E Williams, which are the most advanced destroyers in the world with the very rare combination of littoral radar, anti-ballistic missile tracking and limited intercept capability, and the new remote minehunting vehicle UUV. After all, US minesweepers are slow, with a max speed of 14 knots, it takes time to get to the Gulf... unless your nearby like the USS Patriot.

As if that wasn't enough, the USS Peleliu ESG is in the Gulf, the USS Essex ESG is in the South Pacific for large multinational exercises, the USS Bataan is deployed for large multinational exercises, the USS Saipan is in the Med for large multinational exercises, while the USS Iwo Jima ESG, USS Wasp, and USS Bonhomme Richard ESGs are all in workup for deployments. Throw in the USS Trenton in the Indian Ocean tossing around ScanEagle UAVs, which replaced the USS Oak Hill which has been doing it for months, and the USS Tortuga is exercising too. Singapore is of coarse a US Navy partner in the Spartan USV program, and a contributor to protecting the Iraqi Oil Terminals in the Gulf.

Lets not forget, the FS Charles De Gaulle and escorts just happens to be in the Arabian Sea, and the Royal Navy CV Illustrious and its powerful task force is also in the region.

I could go on and on, think of all the ships in every exercise in every link, and where these exercises are taking place.

Coincidence or Conspiracy? Considering the predictions for months regarding Iran, I think it is The Worlds Largest Naval "Coincidence" that much firepower is at sea this June.
