Launch date for HMS Astute has been brought forward to the 8th June 2007. this is 7 weeks ahead of schedule

Looks like it will be an awesome boat. Ive always admired submarines and submariners. The British Navy is one of the best in the world, if not the best. And this boat should solidify that position in the world. I wonder how it compares to the Virgina class boats we here in the US are about to put out to sea when they finish trials. Two of the best navies in the world with two of what should be the best submarines.

bear in mind that this is the revised schedule that they are ahead off after they messed up thee contract bigtime and had to get Electric Boat to come sort it out for them.

Probably most of the weapons fit - that's what Whitehall usually does.
