I've thought of a brilliant idea for a TV show, its a reality show, which is the 'in' thing at the mo. It involves 3 things people love and is based loosely around the Pop Idol theme. I am not giving anymore details than that sorry!

What I need to know is how do I go about getting my idea on TV? I aint rich, I work full-time and know nothing about TV in general other than you switch it on and gawk at it! Oh, and my idea is aimed at the UK audience, though with fine tweeking the States could easily be conquered.

Any ideas folks?

Hopefully this site will give you some information.

Failing that here is the link to email the channel 4 (uk) ideasfactory people, from what I can gather they deal with up and coming talent and ideas.

That would be my best guess of where to get started.

Come to Hollywood, get a job as a script coordinator or writing assistant, after a few years of that, see if you can snag some spec episodes of the show you're working for, then try to get an agent or a manager, get a job writing for established shows, after a few years of that, try to get a pitch meeting with some network people. That's what some friends of mine have been trying for the last 10-15 years or so.

Or you just might want to get a cheap digital camera, get some friends together, do the show, put it on youtube.com and see what happens.
