The dish is pointing at something in the sky.
Try J-Track and see what's in orbit above Area 51.

Good points people, i thought that if it is a Sat dish (which i now know it is) the positioning is strange.

Not really, if ya think in the concept of government/military - there's no telling how many sats are up there that are not allowed to be listed by trackers.

It could also be a defunct dish, stripped gears, salvaged, yadda yadda.

Thanks shadowhawk. When you look at it from the ground it doesnt look so odd, the buildings actually quite small compared to the dish
