Funny how you skip over what Bush has done. You ignore the fact that the Shrub(sorry MidnightDStroyer I had to use this) has done next to nothing for
the US, besides ban partial-birth abortion and increase the FBI's DNA databank. And please don't tell me that Iraq was a threat, and that airport
security is the best it has ever been, because this is what, in the old country, we called BULL #.
Now, for more general statements...
Excellent topic, Nerdling. You may have copy/pasted it, but it brought out the ideals of the democratic party. We do fight for those who cannot fend
for themselves. As long as they're in this country.
Other than that... you people are fools.
Arguing over Bush and Clinton... ay carumba. HAS IT EVER OCCURED TO ANY OF YOU THAT NEITHER IS A SHINING EXAMPLE OF THEIR PARTIES' IDEALS? Clinton
was a friggen infidel and Bush is a moron. HELLO, DO YOU REALLY WANT TO DEFEND THESE PEOPLE JUST BECAUSE THEY'RE IN YOUR POLITICAL PARTY? Oi.
Quite frankly, you need to go back quite far in American history to see people who really represent what the republican and democratic parties
represent. Let use... Lincoln and FDR.
Lincoln was faced with people who wanted to break away from his country. HIS country. There probably were many in the north who opposed military
action on the Confederate bastards. And what did Lincoln do? He was not afraid to use military action against rebels whose hearts were in the wrong
place. He defeated them, and he died in the name of the American Dream.
FDR lived in a time of civil unrest. A depression much worse than that which Bush has gotten use into. He used many things that republicans were
skeptical would work. He created the New Deal and provided millions of jobs. He got America back on its feet. Then, he fought the Nazis and Italy and
japan. He avenged those lost at Pearl Harbor with victory after victory in both Europe and the Pacific. Because of him, the real example of a
repugnant, Hitler, was defeated. Because of him, Imperial Japan suffered its first loss against another country in many years.
Wouldn't you rather have these two men as the representatives of your party? Or do you still want to be snivelling fools who argue over two of the
worse-off Presidents in history.
Its up to you. If you choose Bush and not Lincoln, you are a fool who should not be a republican. If you choose Clinton and not FDR, you are a fool
not worthy of the title "democrat."
It's all up to you.
Signing off,
HLW
