this is the very first line of the first post that started this thread. YOUR POST. YOU mentioned race as you are the one who started this thread right? since you mentioned race in your first post of this thread (the first post sets the theme for the thread) therefore you must be complaining about a racial issue. if not then you shouldnt have mentioned "people of color" as not all soldiers are "people of color", which also means you are excluding all white soldiers which means you are not talking about JUST this war and soldiers, you are talking about non white soldiers.

i wonder why? you edited it to put in (of all colors) while not even changing the original post which mentions "people of color". so which is it? people of color or every person in the miltary?

if you were talking about ALL soldiers and meant EVERYONE should be drafted why did you say "people of color" and that only republicans should be drafted?

personally i'm against any form of a draft but everyone who is in the miltary at this time are there of their own accord and choose to be there. furthermore being the miltary means doing your job regardless of the politics behind your orders, something you fail to understand.

We have a volunteer military- raise your hand, take the oath to protect America and ALL that goes with. We don't need a draft and the issue was started as a racial issue to begin with by Al Sharpie to rile up leftist democrats.
The idea of "people of colour" representing high percentages in the forces stems from the oppurtunities sought by those who have limited resources for college and job skill advancement. These are offered by the military in the form of collge funds and skill training which, for many, can be laterally moved into civilian markets for a good living.

I took advantage, as I was poor in 1984; black and had nothing to eat and no electricity to cook with if I did. I found a way out besides welfare. I volunteered.

A draft is a very serious step.
